http://www.pullum-sports.co.uk/bars-and-discs/olympic-weightli... this one but it's 561

Texas power bar I like but some people have had problems with theirs

Pendlay bar for 360 odd is meant to be really good but I haven't used one.

Been looking around the exact same thing mate. Initially was going to go for a texas power bar, but recently heard some mixed reviews and it also has a massive mark up in cost compared to the US. Ive been recommended a Pendlay WL bar by some, think that falls into that price range. Also been mentioned that there's an ivanko you can get from pullum which is supposedly excellent, comes in nearer to £600.

I'm interested to hear what people have to say myself.

Have you tried to get a 20kg, 7ft long piece of steel sent from the US to the UK?

That's why there is a mark up. Still the best bar you can get hold of for under £500

Yeah I appreciate that mate, and until recently I haven't heard anybody with a bad thing to say about the bar. It'll most likely still be the one I end up buying

I had three bars sent over from the US and the VAT/tax, handling fees, storage fees etc were crazy. Makes it virtually the same cost as buying one from someone in the UK Happy

I actually prefer the Okie Power Bar really, and it's a little cheaper or used to be.

If you stretch the extra 61 quid the ivanko is lovely

Rogue sells a couple of bars in the EU. this Ohio Bar is one;
http://www.rogueeurope.eu/the-ohio-bar-eu

Since Rogue has its own EU distributor there isn't quite the mark up in price and it costs under £300 inc delivery. I almost bought one myself until I got a good deal on a 2nd hand Pendlay.

They get very good reviews online and are higher quality than a TPB.

150,000 psi is s**t, Texas power bar is 186,000 and ivanko is over 200,000

Its not s**t, its just not as high.

Other factors come into play such as the grade of material used, quality control etc.

Yeah I can believe it mate. I've read that the okie power bar is really whippy. Never had the luxury to use any sort of branded bar, just horrible generic gym ones. Want to treat myself to a bar I can use for pretty much everything

Many bars recommended in his thread are weightlifting bars as opposed to powerlifting bars. Just make sure you actually order what you need as trying to do heavy squats on a weightlifting bar isn't ideal for a powerlifter.
