Went to glencairn tonight for training.

Trap bar deadlift:

70x5
120x5
190x3
240x5
240x5
240x5

Had to use the trap bar as the two grippy bars were being used...one on bench and one on squats which had the foam fanny pad on it Roll-Eyes ... only they know why they needed the grippy bar Confused .

C/G lat pull down:

stack x10
stack x8

D/B hammer curls:

20's x10
20's x10

Seated chest supported row thingy:

60x10
60x10

Thought I'd weigh myself as haven't checked my weight in awhile and was 107kg so will need to cut down on the beer a little to get back under 105kg Unhappy .

5 reps is higher rep work! Confused Tongue ...... I do 10's on accessory stuff.

I know you mean high rep squats. When I tried them I was getting better at them but my top end strength went down and my lower back was fried all the time, I don't recover very quick at all either and the higher reps made my recovery worse even though it was lighter weights.

I am still doing short hill sprints when out walking my dogs and kettle bell stuff 2/3 times a week and will start doing some rowing machine stuff, I just don't log these things. Plus when we start training events for u105's there's a abit of running about to do, we'll start timing things also so we've got something to beat each session.

Can't train at the weekend as I'm working. How about friday night at mine if it's not raining and if it is we can go to glencairn to use there log and I'll take my axel to do 15" deadlifts?

Good bit of training at mine with Ian.

Ifsa Log:

65x8
80x3
90x1
100x5
100x5
100x7 (log rep pb)

Easy enough, enjoying my pressing again since I've got my injuries under control.

15" Axel deadlift:

120x3
200x1
250x1
220x5

Really bad height for me but got some time to work on it(fortunatly) before the u105's.

Yoke:

240x25m
240x25m

Was ment to time them but forgot, 2nd set felt faster though.
Decided to go back to the drawing board with training the yoke as I'm terrible at it. Plan is to keep it light and work on foot speed.

Good laugh with Ian with lots of trash talk. Grin

Trained this afternoon at glencairn alone.

Squat:

20x12
70x6
140x5
180x5
180x5
180x5
110x10

I've got a niggle in my left knee from hill sprints last week which was giving me a little pain when squatting, was supposed to be 20 with 110 but knee was bothering me so just stopped at 10.

Flat bench:

20x20
70x10
110x5
110x5
110x5

Easy enough.

Incline bench:

60x5
100x3 don't know what happened here, just had no energy.
80x8

C/G lat pull down:

Full stack x10
Full stack x10

D/B strict o/h/p:

32's x8
32's x8

Then did some shoulder & bicep rehab stuff and stretching.

Off to get some sand for my giant dumbell and for a sand bag.

This sounds good. It that a DB from Brian or one you got made?

Sandbag work is superd for conditioning imo. Runs, loads, shouldering etc.

Aye Davy one of the new giant dumbells that Brian has just got in stock, it looks cool as f**k, had it in the house for a week just to look at it but the Boss soon got fed up with that so it's out with the rest of my kit Unhappy . Only got a chance to fill it up about 1/3 with sand as the kids wanted to help and well you know how it is....they just get in the way haha, it is going to take a while!
Just making a sand bag from an army duffle bag so that I can get some training in for the u105's. Saying that I've got 2 comps next month so that will stop me training the u105 events.

I might even get some vids up.

Bit rushed for time today so thought I'd at least get something done at mine.

15" axel eq. deadlift:

75x5
125x5
205x3 (belt on)
245x3 (straps up)
245x3
245x3

Thought I'd try the suit with these as it's a really bad height for me, made a little difference I suppose so will just need to perserver.
Lower back pumped to hell as it seems to be all back!

I feel your pain mate, I also find 15" a horrible height to pull from and even worse when it's the Axle, don't find I get anything from the suit though. Strong pulling bud.

I had it in my head that 15" would be like the 18" pulls that seem to suit the shorter guys (like at COC the other week with the 500kg pull from Andy Gosling) . But so far i havent seen anyone say that they like the height !!

Some good work recently , looking promising for the u105kg comp m8 Happy

I'd kind of hoped and assumed this would be the case too, I just think it's quite an awkward height for me as it's a little above mid shin where I'm weakest. Like Stephen says though, plenty of time to work on it between now and the comp.
