Cut him some slack, he is an american Member 311, 1751 posts | hey did this today: rack jerks 5 triples w/ 117.5....solid...will be going to 3x3w/ heavy weights and 5 triples w/ a lighter weight after that clean and jerk 1w/ 70 1w/ 90 1w/ 100 1w/ 110 1w/ 120 1w/ 130...quite pleased with this...will try and get to 300lbs before year's end SQ up to 3 doubles w/ 425...easy will do SS work tomorrow later phil | ||

Cut him some slack, he is an american Member 311, 1751 posts | did a technical snatch session today with a coach who has snatched 300+lbs, so the fellow knows his stuff and the best part is that the price is right...it is free, haha this sucked for a few reasons....the weight was too light and i felt like a f**king spastic having to unlearn all my old habits and relearn some new and improved ones this was good for a few reasons....the positions when they were explained to me, made the light weights feel REALLY light, so with some work on these IE boatloads of reps, haha....i should be moving some bigger weights in the snatch....the ideas also have applicability to the clean as well.....should be interesting to see what happens...i have always thought i have the power to snatch 110+/clean 150 right now with some better tech and my coach agrees off to get tattooed tomorrow, and then do box snatches, fronties and maybe pressing if i can't get to Judo as my new tattoo is a full sleeve of my right calf...so folks grabbing at it and doing sweeps etc might be a bit rough. anyhoo laters phil | ||

Cut him some slack, he is an american Member 311, 1751 posts | hey Friday press 3 doubles and 4 singles w/ 195...little bit of progress here, looking forward to hitting a few triples in a month or two....thinking i might add some DB press and CGBP Sunday rack jerk up 2, 3, 2w/ 120.....who woulda thought 2.5kg would have made such a difference....got a few things i need to focus on to make this lift 'click' 5 triples w/ 110...nice and breezy clean and jerks 1w/ 60 1w/ 80 1w/ 100 1w/ 110 miss jerk on 120...easy clean 1w/ 125 132.5.....clean only 2 shots at a 142.5 clean...was feeling a little fruity here...will get this and more in a bit SGHP from floor 5 triples w/ 80....feels very light off of the, and i am just working on getting my scoop right 1 triple w/ 90 as a tech check...solid enough, but i want to to hit each and every rep perfect..... will do some sort of SQ tomorrow and some SN work laters phil | ||

Cut him some slack, he is an american Member 311, 1751 posts | hey did this today: SN 2w/ 50 2w/ 55 2w/ 60 2x2w/ 60 2w/ 65 2w/ 70 miss, 2w/ 75 1, miss, 1w/ 75 2w/ 75...much better than the last few 2w/ 80...the best double of the lot...very pleased with this SGHP from blocks 2w/ 80 2x2w/ 90 2x2w/ 95...just working on squeezing the bar off the blocks and getting my hips into the pull box cleans up to 2, 4x3w/ 120...hand popped off the bar a few times, but otherwise solid will do rack jerks, some sort of snatch and fsq tomorrow later phil | ||

Cut him some slack, he is an american Member 311, 1751 posts | had a session on Friday: strict press 3w/ 195.....a PR triple by 2.5lbs.....next up is 200lbs...sad to say, but doing a triple with 200lbs has been a long time goal for me in lifting 3x5, 2x3w/ 175....nice and solid...would like to get this to 185 or so.....that'd be a good base to try a 225+ strict press from snatch 2w/ 50 2w/ 55 2w/ 60 2w/ 70 2w/ 75 3w/ 80....really pleased with this...tech was solid..really getting my tech a lot better...want a double at 90. FSQ 3w/ 142.5....will be trying for a PR in a week or two 3x5w/ 125....easy enough, but quite hard on the abs and torso in general. will do C and J, rack jerks, snatch and neck work. later phil | ||

Out of interest, can you rack jerk more than you c&j (I've never been able to rev myself with rack jerks like I can with a c&j) Good work on the PR triple too Si | ||

Cut him some slack, he is an american Member 311, 1751 posts | thanks for the kind words Si..... the 5 aren't so much about building strength/muscle etc....and more about pressure testing my tech with a weight that i can lift pretty easily but i still have to concentrate on.... my best clean and jerk is 130kg and my best rack jerk from the front is 145kg....i did this a while ago, so it isn't a true reflection of what i can do at the moment...i can prolly do 135-140 at the moment...am aiming for 150 at the end of my next cycle Smalls.....i am in the uS at the moment...and have access to some coaching on an infrequent basis and regular access to good equipment. | ||

Cut him some slack, he is an american Member 311, 1751 posts | Post Edited: 07.12.2011 @ 10:02 AM by PhilKlidaras hey, did the final session before my comp on Saturday:snatch 2w/ 40 2w/ 50 2w/ 60 2w/ 65 2w/ 70 1w/ 75 1w/ 80 1w/ 85.....this is my opener, and it felt very easy as it should! clean and jerk 1w/ 80 1w/ 90 1w/ 100 1w/ 110 1w/ 120...easy enough strict press, in lbs 5w/ 175 5w/ 175 5w/ 175 4w/ 175 4w/ 175 the last rep on the 2nd through 5th sets was done with a rest pause, so i would put the bar on the floor...keep my hands on it, rest a few seconds, clean it again and then strict press it...... the meet is a little unsanctioned meet and should have about 30 or so lifters in it..... the meet is being run in a CrossFit gym and the plates being used are bumpers, but in pounds..... my attempts are gonna be along the following lines snatch 1st 190 lbs 2nd 200 lbs 3rd 210-215 lbs....this would tie my gym pr or slightly exceed it depending on which one i take clean and jerk 1st 265 lbs 2nd 280 lbs 3rd 290-300 lbs.....would be a pr regardless of the weight taken....though i would like to make a 500 lb total....so 290 is a very likely candidate if the snatch goes well and the jerk is about where i think it is....the 300 would be if i felt like i could walk through a wall! goals: to go 5 or 6/6 and have fun.....real comp that i am aiming for is in April where i will be going for 105-110kg/145kg total at 105kg BW laters phil | ||

Cut him some slack, he is an american Member 311, 1751 posts | hey did my comp today and it went as follows: Snatch miss 190 1w/ 195 1w/ 205 5lb below where i wanted to be, but not bad at all...missed my first attempt due to being too casual...will be looking for a bit more in my Feb comp, say 220lbs Clean and Jerk 1w/ 265 1w/ 280 miss 290...easy clean, but i was redlighted on the jerk for pressout...i will be getting 300 shortly total 485lbs at 250 lbs...will be going 500+ at 240lbs at my next meet will be at Judo on Monday and weights on Tue later phil | ||
