at this point I switched to a wider grip (same as my bench grip to see how it felt)

Great sets, 80kg x 4 x 4 was the goal but went for more volume as was feeling good. Glad I switched to the wider grip, it feels so much stronger its crazy, even heavily fatigued I got a new max with some in the tank and some rep pb's too. ROM is reduced, I feel more stable and can get more into the bar, 100kg going very soon in this tougher position so hoping for a good standing strict PB when I get back to it too. Sticking with the wider grip, should see more progress now.

Front Squats

Back to front squats and going nice and steady, felt light and painless so will continue slowly increasing.

Deficit Deadlifts

Again feeling good, painless and light so will also continue the slow build back up.

Was on my way out but it called out to me! Quite enjoying this bit of bodybuilding work being thrown in, reps done slow and controlled with a big squeeze, chest still shaking now, think I'm going to enjoy a little bodybuilding coming back into my sessions Happy

Was going to do some conditioning but not pushing me injury too hard - I will try to get back on this by the end of the week, pleased with todays efforts.

Good to see some cheeky issue free squats in there too fella, good stuff!

Not surprised by the strongman U-Turn. The thoguth of getting up on that stage oiled to the max is just too much for you to resist Tongue Grin
That said decision could be the right one, whilst its nice to compete sometimes you just want to do your thing without the pressure of being ready and prepped for a comp (going on stage is not included in this statement Happy).
As JohnGym has said, no point breaking yourself for a hobby.
Plus if you keep doing what you want then you may feel like entering a comp that takes your fancy anyway.

Cheers Taz, I have motivation back with abundance and I am returning to squatting and deadlifting albeit lightly much faster than first thought.

I'm going to enjoy my new set up I think mate and if I can rid myself on any loose skin around my lower abs I would never say never to stepping onto a BB stage - seriously! I was very close to it a few years back and is still kind of on my to do list Grin

Main goals are my PL total and strict overhead though but I may be getting on the tanning table at some point Wink Grin Cool Tongue

Cracking lifting going on as always mate. With all the singles you love doing PL kind of makes sense. How far through Smolov jr are you? Have you Ox'ed it up at all? well that is apart from the usual craziness.

Ta bud, into my second week and flying, so far I am sticking to the plan (unusually for me), gone up 2.5kg first jump, going up 5kg for final week, so far so good Happy I am doing a fair bit of other pressing too though so hoping that helps too. My overheads feeling very strong.

Decent sets, easy enough and as said a cheap pb, plenty more there, next week - the third week I will push the boundary and go up 5kg instead of 2.5kg. Rest periods were kept short too.

Very pleased, new grip is waaaay stronger looking forward to trying it out standing when healed, it was only a few weeks back a triple at 80kg done in this dead start fashion was tough, today 5 was well under failure Happy I have no doubt I have over 100kg there fresh now.
