Thought id start a log since ive met a few people off here now.

Competed in BSM u80kg today and came 9th overall which i didnt think was too bad considering it was my first ever competition and im only 19. Some events went better than i'd expect, and some could've gone better but i made no major mistakes which was pleasing.

Usually i weigh around 83kg, but i quite like this weight so might stick at it. My next comp is the u90kg Britains Naturals Qualifiers in June.

Anyway my best lifts so far:
Deadlift - 242.5
Squat - 210
Bench - 150
OH Strict - 100
Log Press - 115
Push Jerk - 115
Push press - 110
Yoke - 310 x 20m
Farmers - 125 x 20m

Ill log my next workout when i get to my gym. Oh im from Hull btw.

Bit of background as to why i love training so much and wanna be the best! Started messing about when i played football and rugby and took it weirdly serious as soon as i started. Incline dumbbell presses, curls and shoulder pressing Tongue I also used to religiously watch WSM with my dad for as long as i could remember and be addicted to it.

Then i started deadlifting and squatting (touch n go deads, and very high squats Tongue) and realised i was fairly strong, and the addiction grew just to get stronger. I went from 9 stone to around 15 stone in a couple of years just to get stronger and bigger. All be it with a couple of injuries...torn groin, dislocated shoulder, torn knee ligaments.

Finally i started pulling properly and squatting deeper, and pulled 200kg when i was 17 @ 81kg, and squatted 140 about the same time.

Just after i was 18 (xmas 2010) i was around 96kg and caught meningitis which put me in a coma and was basically about 2 hours away from dying. Luckily my sister found me (we all thought i had flu) and took me to hospital where i got rushed through and my parents got called as i took a turn for the worse. Intensive care for a week and came out on xmas eve. Lost 5kg BW in 2 days, and a lot more over the coming weeks but i just couldnt keep out the gym. So i cut my time off work short and went to the gym to try and pick up where i left off (still going to the hopsital each day to be put on a drip, stupid i know...) and the nurses said part of me surviving was due to my size and general well being. This just spurred me on, and in 2011 i decided to cut back on my BW after 2 powerlifting comps (2nd in both) and i got to about 83kg, and entered BSM u80kg a week before the comp...and here i am now Happy

Thanks lads! Makes me want to train more, and harder now! I want big things to happen! Happy I was nervous as f**k a start. I felt like a little 16yr old at school against proper strongmen, but I felt I held my own. Nice of u all to recognise the performance.

A lot of inspiration came from BSM and your comments. Just gotta keep progressing! Advice appreciated.
