Advice is great guys! But I agree with the limit lift, my front squat has never been big and I have started the Russian Squat programme for back squat just to improve lower body strength however I still think I need to front squat...

Just to throw this out there... I think my pull is very lazy? Watching the best guys do it they almost throw their head back whereas I just look like I'm having a picnic and being a girl?

You know, the Russian Squat routine was designed for front squats, not back squats. If your serious about weightlifting then your front squat number, especially as you're now cleaning right on it's limit, is far more important than your back squat number.

Don't throw your head back, you'll probably end up throwing your shoulders back as well and that results in falling over backwards. I know pyrros dimas is the main culprit for people seeing people throw their heads back, but you shouldn't do it

I wouldn't worry about your pull for the time being. It's not going to be as fast as someone who's been lifting 10-years cos you'll still be thinking of things as you go through the movement which slows everything down. You'll get to a point where everything is automatic and then you can really concentrate on getting fast!

Just for a change... I DISAGREE WITH SIMON. I think a bigger back squat (high bar) will equal a bigger frontie but not vice versa. Front squats aren't actually a great representation of the clean and the back squat is the best strength developer.

Just stirring the pot really Happy

Great lifting today!

^be quiet you! I'm drinking and will become verbally abusive otherwise! Grin

The Bulgarians excluded back squats totally but included front squats. There was a reason for that you know! Wink

Because I'm a huge girl with no confidence in my front squat.

You appear to have succumb to the temptation to chase numbers instead of learning how to lift, as a result your lifting (by evidence of the two latest videos) has gone to s**t.

Take a step back mate and get some steady training in and learn how to lift before you get carried away with chasing PBs.

I am sure this advice will fall on deaf ears, and please feel free to tell me to f**k right off Wink

f**k right off Wink no I'm kidding... I am putting a lot of practice in the lower weights I look much much better than I used to with the lower weights honest. That 100kg and the 70kg snatch were just total surprise lifts I didn't think I'd make them in 100 years so as a result I turn into Spazzy McGee
RusevIcon...10-09-2012 @ 22:30
Can still nail the snatch

I would do sets of 3s get some work in snatch, cleans, Jerks, CJ front and back squats and pulls first (3x3,5x3)

I used to do 100 % pulls(of snatch and clean) and maximum pulls as they turn into deadlifts

Front Squat

Thoughts?
