Good stuff moz, im the same on squats - but i stop a bit higher up - i honestly dont go further down because im either too inflexible or (most likley) massivly muscled beyond enyone else living and should have a doctors note to excuse me from depthTongue

I was extremely impressed with your lifting, Moz, even if you did make me squat f**king deep when spotting you Happy.

Well done with the lifting Moz, it showed an impressive level of intensity and commitment. I am not going to criticise your squat depth. A lot of lifters would probably be stronger going deeper, and like all of us I assume that you want to make international standard some day. If you end up lifting abroad you will find that a lot of squats that would get passed in this country will get reds. I know this to my cost (don't get me started). Carry on squatting like that and you will never need to look at the lights if you come up with it.

Yeah, I agree with Jim - sink them low and don't worry about depth. There are some fantastic lifters who squat very low - Tibor Meszaros springs to mind.

and out of interest is that a narrow or wide-stance squat? I find it very easy to go "ass-to-grass" on narrow stance squats but having tried out how wide stance feels, I would be surprised if you can go as low.....

Definatly close stance altho looking at it my feet are point out and my knees just follow that path. I still think i could bench 155 but the bar didnt come down in the right 'groove'. Il bench 160 next time to make up for it x

i think you can compete in both but it may be a case of paying an entrance fee for both

Very nice squat that! I think he had missed 600 a few weeks earlier in Catts which is why he maybe only went upto 260 even though he had more there.

I'm also pretty sure I've seen him out drinking in Fallowfield, so maybe he is a Manchester local. Very strong lifter for sure, would surely be in contention to win the nationals.
