However, it's now obvious that it's going to be a bit of a long haul: e.g. Bench press has gone from 140 x 9 to 140 x 1. Squat has gone from 182.5 X 8 to 180 X 1. Lost 1" off arms, 2" off chest There's no continuity with my old journal, so I might as well start a new one. I've been going in regularly for a couple of weeks, and I'm hoping I've ht a new groove. Here we go: Squats 70 X 5 120 X 4 150 X 2 170 x 1 180 x 1 190 X 1 165 X 2 165 X 2 165 x 2 Bench Press 70 X 5 100 X 2 120 x 2 130 x 1 140 X 1 120 x 4 120 x 4 120 X 4 Pulldowns 70 X 5 75 X 5 80 X 5 85 x 5 90 X 5 DB curls 20 x 5 20 X 5 20 X 5 | ||

Wednesday 5th May Not too stiff after yesterday, so tried a few deadlifts and push press. Joints seem to be creaking slightly less than last week. Deadlifts 70 X 5 70 X 5 120 X 3 150 X 3 160 X 3 170 X 3 180 X 3 180 X 3 Push Press 70 X 5 80 X 2 85 X 2 90 X 2 95 X 1 C'est tout. | ||

I still have a couple of square cm of muscle that aren't hurting after the onslaught of training five days out of the last six. Pulled my shoulder front squatting on Thursday, so I had some problems with squatting, and "heavy" benching was out. Had to settle for close grip bench press and watch the poundages. Max squat currently at 85% of best. Squats 70 X 5 120 X 4 150 X 2 170 X 1 180 X 1 192.5 x 1 170 X 2 170 X 2 170 X 2 Close grip bench press 70 X 5 100 X 5 110 X 5 110 X 5 110 X 5 | ||

More to the point, my curl poundages are going up and that's all I care about. Deadlifts 70 X 5 100 X 5 120 X 3 150 X 1 170 X 3 180 X 3 190 X 3 200 X 3 Pulldowns on 'the other machine' 7 X 10 9 X 6 10 X 5 10 X 5 10 X 5 Curls, once again in the squat rack 50 X 6 50 X 6 50 X 5 | ||

Shoulder was less troublesome. Once I get to doubles on 140, I will feel like I'm getting somewhere. Strength is coming back more slowly on squats, but there has been a modest improvement.
