Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Nice squats, Iain! First time I see you fail a lift proper (your first squat). Tough love from the refs, but the depth must have been border line on the second and third. Remember someone mentioning that it's a good way to relax the refs, by opening with a squat way below paralell, so they will be confident with your depth and start paying more attention to other technical points on your second and third attempt. Don't know how you can do this comfortably suited though.

Gonna outlive my opposition !! Member 123, 4038 posts SQ 202.5, BP 135.0, DL 232.5570.0 kgs @ 117kgs UnEq | So what now? Do we do it again next year? If so what changes or improvements would you like to see? Your feedback is important but please do not criticise referees, spotters, loaders, helpers, etc. Apparently the college had to close the gym on the Monday after the event to clear up the huge amount of chalk and all the mess that had been spilt over the floor, that was despite some of us staying on until 8:30 on the Sunday night clearing up. Also a small hole had been made in the hall floor down at the bottom end (where nobody went) but I am sure that it was not down to us, however these issues leave a sour taste for the college who gave us the facility at a very reasonable rate. Personally I would have to say that lifting and helping organise is probably not something that I would do again, in fact I have been feeling pretty flat since Sunday. Finally I would like to express my personal thanks to all the helpers, volunteers, spotters & loaders (especially Steve who spotted every lift for every lifter over the two days), all the members of the Farm weightlifting club who not only lifted over the weekend but also turned out on Friday night and Monday night to set up and clear up. Special thanks to Kevin, without who the entire competition would not have taken place and to Steve G for the smooth running of a sharp website. Oh, and to the ar****les who nicked a couple of chalk blocks and some drinks from our cupboard - don't come back.

some nice relaxing jazz. Member 77, 12599 posts SQ 265, BP 165, DL 280710.0 kgs @ 93kgs UnEq | I'd like to see it run again for definate. It was a good venue, good equipment (apart from the squat stands ), great warm up facilities and very well run. I felt that during some flights the time between exercises was to little, with not enough chance for some to warm up properly, particulary those that where equipped and lifting early on in the flight. Still that's a samll point compared to all the good ones! Good job!
