cheers, its all down to my new bar position and being able to keep my back tense to support the weight. my prior technique i had the bar too high and every time i got near parallal my back started to lean forward and put alot of stress on my spine.

strict barbell shoulder press

60kg 8 reps
80kg 6 reps

left shoulder in absolutel agony, was really painful.

tried just the 20kg bar for 2 sets of 10, felt okay, but still hurting during and after.

was going to go home here, but thought id try some light exercises

seated dumbell press

15kg 10 reps x 2 sets

3kg dumbell side and front raises for few sets each.

shoulder press machine

few sets of 6 light

im thinking of not training shoulders for 2 weeks to see if rest helps. i think this injury is possibly from the low bar position on the squat. its pushing my arm back and pushing on my rotator cuff.

it really is painful as soon as i go heavy after the set, then the pain slowly fades away after few minutes. think i ice it tonight, see if that helps.

as you are finding out low bar= f**ked shoulders elbows and bicep tendonitis

i have enjoyed my recent foray into back squats but am paying price for them

back to fronties for me if you want to play events on 26th i will take a couple of things over to the container (dumbell t-bar)

i fancy a crack at the deadlift medley to see if i need to make it harder

lol i really want a 260 squat and this low bar feels great, may raise it a little next week and try to not grip the bar so tight. see if that takes any tension off the shoulders. the deadlift event is the only event im looking forward to. i think you should replace the last weight 170 with something heavier. another 300?

26th should be good for me mate. id love ago on the dumbell, so long as my shoulder isnt killing me! and love to have ago on the deadlift medley, i think itll be a doddle

oh didnt realise, thought it was strange 170 after all those heavy reps. thought it was one of jt's crazy medleys. that shouldnt be too difficult. the other events look much harder

try only putting 2 fingers over the bar and 2 fingers under the bar, ive seen alot of people do this (pretty sure lee does it) its suposed to take some tension off the shoulders.

ill have to have a play with the technique, only been doing this techinique for short time, i think once i get it right itll help my squat alot
