I am massively suprised that he competed after his pec tear.
He squats very low bar, i dont know how he can do it with a pec tear.
He is the king of the squat because he walks it out.
Later this year 485kg will fall definately.
At this rate we could see a 500kg raw squat by him in the next 2 years.

Yep. It's a shame because Malanichev's squats used to be of such a high (lol) standard.

Agreed also,

There is no denying how insanely strong these people are and I get that pushing the boundaries is all part of the sport..

However by PASSING all these high attempts at silly numbers it undermines the day someone squats the same weight to depth.

Not detracting from the lift itself, still massively impressive.

This!
The speed in that squat though. Sureley he could bury that weight.

I am not convinced anyone will ever squat this much to a reasonable depth

What is the actual heaviest ever Unequipped squat to depth

Can't see much difference tbh between that and Williams 938lbs squat as far as depth is concerned. Similar filming angle too

Williams effort - 2.20 in on here

Maybe I've been away from powerlifting for too long and gone a bit soft, but 'that's a high squat' wouldn't have been my first thought.

It's possibly a bit high but I wouldn't want to put my mortgage on it.

Pause the video when he's at the bottom. It's there or thereabouts.

A proper side ref view would be nice.
