It's been a while since my total moved on and consequently it's a few months since I looked at my placing in the league.

I was horrified to find that I have slipped from the mid forties down to the eighties. Where have all these strong f**kers suddenly appeared from? And who invited them? Now I'm languishing in nowheresville.

I've tried using Rob's filtering system, applying this protocol:

Unequipped only
Masters 40-49
Middleweight
Drives a blue Toyota
Has a pine cone on the window sill
Used to live next door to the father of Millionaire cheat Charles Ingram

I still only came 27th.

I think we should have a recruitment drive for people totalling under 300 at 100kg bodyweight or above. Only by adding a thousand or so members in this category can all those in my predicament restore our dignity.

To be honest Cliff, I saw this coming a while back... so that's why I decided to throttle back on the training and not make any big three PBs since April 2007.

I mean, I'm quite confident I could easily have been repping 600 raw on the squat by now.. pulling comfy 280 - 290 ish... and nailing about 112.5 on the bench.

Those lifts are all very reasonable for an unequipped drug free 40 something - I wouldn't give it a second thought.

On second thoughts though, as you get older and your natural test levels drop through the floor, a little course of 250g test per week would pep you right up.

Go on - you know you want to.

Thank you Mr. Pie. Weekly test is one option, but I still think attracting a lower calibre of lifter to the site is the most elegant solution. This system works really well at my gym, where no one else can even half-squat above 150, allowing me to feel like a super-stud and world champion.

See - that's the spirit. Other monster lifters should follow your example, allowing the mediocre guys to rise to the top like cream. Or scum.
