Hy got a meet in a couple pf weeks with abpu and ive never used a monolift. Could this be a problem? There is a gym not a million miles away from where i live that have one, is it worth venturing over to have a go?? As you can probably guess I'd rather not make the journey but if the difference is quite severe I of course will do.
Thanks chaps

Hi there, I did my first comp with a monolift having never used one before, this was with the Irish equivalent of the ABPU (AIPO). If it's completely the same they may give you the option when giving your rack height to walk it out instead if you reckon you'll be more comfortable with it. Best of luck!

Almost certain you can opt to walk out in BPU/ABPU.

Personally I found the transition to a mono a piece of piss but others really struggle with it. If you don't want the hassle of having to practice I'd definitely just stick to walking it out.

I'm guessing you're doing Macclesfield?

I competed with BPU earlier in the year and I walked it out of the monolift mate. Just do that if you haven't used one before.

I almost failed my opener (which I had done 5 reps with in the gym previously) because of the monolift throwing me off so I walked out attempts 2 and 3 hah/
