Why not just not get fat in the first place? Member 132, 1406 posts SQ 331, BP 200, DL 320851.0 kgs @ 98kgs UnEq | For a quick 'protein blast' I'd look for something that constists of mostly protein rather than carbohydrate. Saying that, I am partial to a bit of milk but I'd certainly go for semi or full fat not skimmed.

Don't know how true it is?? No study has shown soya to increase estrogen or decrease testosterone in men. Soya beans do contain phytoestrogens though (whatever they are) and, like most things, this had been misinterpreted. It has been proven to lower cholestrol though, so there's one argument in favour of soya milk!

Don't know how true it is?? cows milk has way stronger oestrogens, so if you were concerned about that, you should stop drinking dairy milk. Even meat has oestrogens, but body can handle environmental oestrogens pretty well if they are weak like the plant based phyto-oestrogens, like soya or some other sources. It could even leave the bodys concentration levels lower if the weak oestrogens tie the receptors from the stronger ones, but that just theorising. But internet stories die hard soya milk is way better. Dairy & meat industry is f**king disgusting.

some nice relaxing jazz. Member 77, 12599 posts SQ 265, BP 165, DL 280710.0 kgs @ 93kgs UnEq | Soya protein is absorbed almost as quickly was whey. The whole estrogen thing is no doubt exagerated. To be on the safe side don't drink soya milk every hr! see nothing wrong with some soya meals a day.

Has achieved nothing. Member 1386, 292 posts | Post Edited: 27.11.2011 @ 14:47 PM by Mallone Soya milk is not really a "milk". Soymilk is not technically a milk, but a beverage made from soybeans. It is the liquid that remains after soybeans are soaked, finely ground, and then strained. Since it doesn't contain any lactose, soymilk is suitable for lactose intolerant folks. Lifted from this website. Unless you or your newborn has milk intolerance, then I would not see any reason to recommend soymilk over cows milk. Soymilk doesn't contain the same nutritional value as cows milk (Calcium, B vitamins etc). Animal proteins are more complete than plant proteins. If I was buying a protein shake and one has soy protein and the other has milk protein, I know which one I would choose.
