are crunches good for back injury like yours?

Back guru stuart mcgill says crunches are bad for your back, and especially if any joint problems because of the unnatural loaded twist of the spine or what ever, but what do i know!

Pike sit ups and such are asking for trouble due to the sheering of the lower back and pelvis

Crunches involve only movement of my spine three sections above the war zone... But in all honesty all midsection strengthening and exercise will help when things were as bad as they were... Sidebends are fantastic in freeing up pain and tension too

I do the crunches in between sets of hypers to stem the pump also and keep busy

Picking up dumbbells off the floor causes no pain whatsoever which is GREAT!

Also I have abs but have no idea why, must have got them off the sunbed I guess Grin

Yeah they're ok, I have nothing against good mornings but would sooner do heavy clean pulls off blocks or hang power snatch tz my man
