Yeah, it's a shame as I fancied giving strongman a bash again this year.
I could conceivably do the Midlands comp as it's in April, but that would still probably displease the coaches (quite understandably really)

Wednesday 20th February 2013 - Squats, Deadlifts @ Ralls

Feeling a bit nervious going into this session as I was all over the place last week with my squatting.
However, I'm hopeful that with my usual orhotics back in place that I'll be golden tonight!

Squats - Beltless up to 170kg

  • 20kg x 10
  • 20kg x 10
  • 60kg x 10
  • 60kg x 10
  • 100kg x 5
  • 100kg x 5
  • 140kg x 2
  • 160kg x 2
  • 170kg x 1
  • 190kg x 1
  • 210kg x 1

  • 227.5kg x 4
  • 227.5kg x 3

  • 130kg x 3 - With Chains

      Happy with that! I made a mess of the very first rep of my top set and it took a little more out of me than it should have done, but apart from that tiny mistake, squatting was solid tonight!

Deadlifts

From the floor - Beltless up to 185kg
  • 60kg x 10 (DOH)
  • 120kg x 5 (DOH)
  • 170kg x 1 (DOH)
  • 190kg x 1 (Hook Grip)

  • 210kg x 3 (Hook Grip)
  • 210kg x 3 (Hook Grip)

  • 145kg x 3 (Speed Work)

      Still working on my technique so the reps weren't very fluent, but things will start to improve soon!

Chins
  • 20kg x 6
  • 20kg x 6 + 8
Fat Man Rows (with a 1 second pause at the top)
  • 10kg x 6
  • 10kg x 6
  • bw x 8
One Arm Rows (with a 1 second pause at the top)
  • 50kg x 6
  • 50kg x 6

    Also did some DOH shrugs for grip and a spot of calf work

Top session tonight, but I can tell that I've been bang at it for a solid four weeks now - Just a couple of sessions left this week and then it's deload time Cool
Deadlifting still needs lots of work, but it's going to get lots of work, so everything should be alright in the end!

Great effort bud, consistant raw 200kg+ squats, and proper squats, dead's looked good mate, be a nice yardstick next week to see where you are properly.

Friday 22nd February 2013 - Bench / Overhead

Training with Padawan Jonny and Jim The Muss on this chilly (freezing) Friday evening Cool

I'm right at the end of a tough 4 week training block now and I can most certainly feel it!

For some reason I felt like messing around with tucking my elbows, but after the 1st 120kg warmup I decided that it was a bloody stupid idea Grin

Strict Log Press (1st rep one-motioned)

Saturday 23rd February 2013 - Legs / Back Assistance @ Temple Gym

Last heavy session after a tough 4 week block of training and I'm going to be the first to admit that I was in full on auto-pilot for most of it Grin
