I've been having this convo with couple of people...

What are your longer term goals and visions as a strength athlete? We are all strength athletes here, varying levels of experience, ages, backgrounds. Do you have some longer term dreams about what you want to achieve?

Some people only get motivated by trying to be the best in this or that, but my goals are fairly modest. Strongman wise, i just aim to place somewhere in the middle in an open comp at some stage - with standards climbing fast every year i dont think that is an easy target. Also i would like to compete in finland, and get past the qualifying stage (they usually have couple qualifying events first and then the actual comp events on the same day).

In powerlifting i cant see doing any real damage, but it would be nice to qualify to nationals one year.

what i want to achieve and what i will achieve are 2 different things

i want to be the first person to dl 1000lbs raw and natural

i want to be worlds strongest man, natural

however

i will achieve a 3x bw deadlift, about 360-380kg

i will make it to compete in BSM

i will achieve a 200kg+ raw bench

i will one day squat a decent number, i promise


i will be extremely happy when i get the targets i will achieve, i will be over the moon if i am named worlds strongest man, or i deadlift 1000 lbs raw

compete in the nationals equipped and unequipped @ 90kg

600 total unequipped

700 equipped

but im not massivly bothered tbh , just enjoying training and getting fitter

Oh, if i do get my ass to a wrestling club , i wouldnt mind one day competitng in a tournament

short term is simply a 500 total raw and unequipped, but really i want more and more to start playing with equipment. I am making myself "earn" eqiupment at the minute.When I get to a 140 unequipped bench I am "allowing" myself to start playing with shirted benching (if I can work out how to do it on my own!).

I would also like in the next few years to hit 600 unequipped and when my

As you know Joni, my long term dreams come with the 'crackpipe' disclaimer. A number of things I aspire to:

- 105kg BSM (if the thing keeps running)
- 800lbs deadlift
- 400lbs overhead

There are plenty more, but thought these alone would give you enough of a laughWink

In all honesty at the moment I haven't reallt got any firm targts.

Be happy to incrase my lifts kilo by kilo and then hopefully something will pop up that takes my fancy.

In one way or another it will probably involve humiliating the Leyland/Mawdsley alliance, AGAIN!
