Wonder if anyone can help please.

About 5weeks ago I hit a new pb on squat, and felt a twinge in my left thigh on the outside, and like a douche bag decided to train through and finish leg day. this left me limping for about a week. 3 week ago I did some high box squats and had no problem, but as soon as I started to hit depth the pain came back. I can deadlift without any bother, but as soon as I start squatting it starts giving me problems, it an isolated spot on the outside of my left thigh.

Has anyone else suffered with this? And apart from physio is there anything that can help speed up the recover, like I said it's been 5 weeks now, and it only gives me problems when squatting down to parallel or below

Cheers

Good squat you got there mate.

Usual advice is to get yourself checked out by a good Doc to make sure nothing has majorly f**ked up. If you've been given the all clear then start squatting with a weight you can manage to depth without pain every day, if you can't do that then squat with weight 3-4 times a week and do some bodyweight squats at home on the other days. The last thing you want to do is to stop working it, or work it only once a week. The injury needs a reason to recover and get better. If you work if often you stretch the muscle, bring blood to the injury and that usually speeds up the rate at which you get better.

Up the weight and decrease the number of times per week as you feel better, pretty soon you'll be back to your old self.

Obviously need a proper history and examination but a quad tear would be relatively high up my list. Not much you can do except RICE and take it easy on knee-dominant stuff for a few weeks until it heals.

try rolling with a foam roller mate it might just be tight from the previous tear and you've done it again cos its still tight. Stretch, heat and foam roller it would be my plan of action.

Snap, same here, mine was the IT band (Iliotibial band syndrome), fecking hurts and feels like the hip joints gone. However, it does not affect strenght just pain, take it steady, anti inflammatory cream. Check out the following link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iliotibial_band_syndrome

the pain seems to be isolated amd is only about 3inches long if that makes sense? Your righy strength is still there, it gave me no problens at winter warmer comp, but the pain is there once I go below parrellel, thanks for the link

Think that's what ill do, also have to give ps3 a rest cause if I even lean over onto that leg it starts up again, I did some light top end squats nearly trouble free, but had no problems with deadlift and snatch.

Thai cream from strength shop is gonna be used again I think :-)
