I hit a pb today with a chest infection
Member 3283, 1921 posts
Dead lifting earlier on I struggled my arse off. I managed 1 rep at a weight I done 2 triples with last time. I just didn't have it in me.
I did do events yesterday so was a bit drained I guess and missed training most of last week as I was working away.
What's the f**king crack? Pissed off and went home with my tail between my legs.
Should I have just left training tonight? (Obvious I guess).
Or would a simple energy boost drink thing have got me sorted?

Sorry for the daft thread just annoyed like f**k

It's my experience that if I have done any work involving my erectors at all the day before I Deadlift I'm absolutely terrible in my Deadlift workout.

I assume events training would have this same impact on me.

Yeh I always warm up well, stretch/foam roll & 3/4 minutes on cross trainer every time.
I foam roll throughout my workout most of the time, especially deads as my back plays up

Hamstring/Glutes/Erector Spinae are much higher in Type IIA (FOG) and Type IIX (FG) than the rest of the body as a generalization.

FOG/FG use creatine phosphate and glycogen (sugars) to function, which are easily depleted, as opposed to Type I (SO) that uses triglycerides (fats), and are harder to drain.

Sounds like low carbs to me, especially post training. Smash the s**t out of nesquik milkshakes post training mate, maybe sup some creatine and see if this sorts it out, I'm sure it will help....

That's very interesting AMH, I am enjoying your posts allround. I usually do find if I am dehydrated/low on carbs that some muscles do just not want to work.

This sounds like a good reason mate thankyou. I get about 50g of carbs post training at the moment and then my tea a couple of hours later.
Any old carbs?
Thanks

Such as what mate? I'd been progressing well for the last few weeks before I worked away last week. Seems to have threw me off track and messed everything up, gutted really as I feel f**ked.
I did work 12 hour days every day last week and other chaps at work are still knackered too so maybe a lots down to that
