And how is your squat form? Any vids?

I would say look for prevention not just a cure.

Not good. Dumbbells? How do you knees feel doing static lunges? I'd rather do that and let the deadlift take care of evrything else than squat on a smith machine now.

If you have a bar get cleaning and then front squat. True load will be lower but good assistance lift after deadlifting?

Bottom line a smith machine squat is not worth bad knees!!

I have the same thing, i believe most of us have wrists, elbows or knees' problems.
It never hurts when i train. Post training, a whole different story!
Rehbands seem to help.

There only one gym that has one any way and that opens at s**t times like 11 am til 8 or sum times 7 so by the time I finished work I'd get there for 6.30 and it's only a small gym and is always packed I went there wen I was at college

if a new gym isnt an option, then try cleaning the weight and front squatting. youll get good at cleaning as well as squatting then.

If the pain is under the kneecap, hurts when going up and down stairs and whenever knee is bent to that degree or more then it could be patellofemoral syndrome mate, have a look at this site and see if it helps
