richards9876 | Knee Wraps | 06-08-2009 @ 15:27
Still mostly bodybuilding Member 501, 10465 posts SQ 220, BP 150, DL 250620.0 kgs @ 94kgs UnEq | Ive just had some Titan Titanium knee wraps delivered in time for my squat session tonight. Will they be as effective wrapping them over my sweatpants or do i need to wrap them directly onto my knee? I always train in sweatpants and dont have any training shorts so if its the later then i will invest in some shorts for squat sessions.

Straight onto the knee is best in my opinion, that way every way will be the same as there is no material to get in the way. Cycling shorts are ideal for squatting. Not as ideal as a suit but I'm thinking that isn't your chosen path

The one in the guns and roses teeshirt. Member 171, 2462 posts SQ 272.5, BP 140, DL 245657.5 kgs @ 80.2kgs Eq | Robbo said: How much can knee wraps add to a squat roughly? I get about 10-15kg from knee wraps although I use 2.5m wraps which arn't allowed in some pl feds. So I think after a few years of training with them and putting them on max tightness, usually meaning someone else puts them on for you, 20kg is definately possible. In response to the op, unless you are using your wraps ultra-light then you need to apply them directly onto the knee. Otherwise your going to get less than 5kg out of them, probably even less, which is fairly useless.

Still mostly bodybuilding Member 501, 10465 posts SQ 220, BP 150, DL 250620.0 kgs @ 94kgs UnEq | I found them effective over the top of my sweatpants tonight but appreciate what you say and when i go for a PB ill wear my neoprene shorts and put them straight onto the knee.

I got got around 30kg out of them within only a couple of weeks a few years ago, and i'm sure that could have been more eventually. Like any equipment if you know how to use it and have the balls to pile the weight on you can really take advantage of it.
