Yes I feel a little better about things now I know plenty of other people have suffered for this sport. Osteopath says I've done something to a 'facet joint' in my spine and she will try popping it back into place on Wednesday once my muscles have relaxed a bit .

Nial I dont think your pre lift ritual of shouting and t**tting your head would work so well in ballet ....although you would look good in a tutuGrin

Ive had a stupid number of injuries, most of the worst from rugby although some pretty rubbish lifting ones too.

Ive broken my right wrist, dislocated my right shoulder, broken my right collar bone, left ankle, 6 fingers and both thumbs (one of the thumbs was pretty ugly, broke the bone in two places and dislocated the joint after getting a boot between my thumb and finger).

Lifting wise Ive got permanent problems with 2 of my disks which caused long term sciatica which is now under control and both my sternoclavicular joints are dislocated to the posterior.

2 broken toes from dropping farmers walk on my foot. Didnt really f**k static training too much as i did a DL & Squat PB the following week but it set me back months on moving events.

I did something to my facet joint about a year ago bloody painfull and I thought i was going to be f**ked for weeks but it healed up ok after a couple of weeks.

injury that f**k me up the most was pulled hamstring last may on first event at barnard castle comp. i got treated by two smoking hot female pyhsios so it wasnt all bad

My first cage fight I got arm barded and never tapped and dislocated me shoulder that was reals

Severe and undiagnosed asthma destroyed me.
I used to train wrestling, thai, high rep weights and cardio pretty much like a full time athlete until I took ill in july 2006. I dropped a s**t tonne of weight and was left bedridden for months, almost dying as a result.

It took me about 3 and a half years to get my breathing under control enough to step back onto a lifting platform where I found that I had detremented severely in every fitness element.

I'm now going from strength to strength so much so that I've recently added in a 3rd day of training per week. I am soon to be adding some cardio also in the form of swimming and fellrunning when the summer comes. I managed some fellrunning last year before taking ill again, but am much more in control since getting better from that. I'm now on pills for my condition.

I can really see myself being back to health in a couple of years if I play my cards right.

I look very much forward to it.

P.S. I believe that my asthma was brought about through severe overtraining as well as through the use of cleaning chemicals to clean my old home and club gym.

yea, you can do allsorts to them mate , usually its just a bit of trauma that inflames the joint, surrounding muscles spasm etc and will recover , thats what i did ...

Done a few sporting injuries

football broke my Ankle, foot, and 4 fingers

rugby fractured my skull, ripped my rear deltoid and tore a hamstring

weights dropped a 50kg home made plate on the top of my foot and broke my other foot

and the worst of all having acoughing fit the has ruined my strongman participation in comps by f**king my lower back for the last two years
