Big Z put up 160kg x 7 on the log today (floor to overhead) and looked to have more in the tank Eek

He's also confirmed that he has 3 logs that look identical, but weigh 70kg/80kg/90kg respectively - so we're f**ked trying to work out what he's actually lifting unless he tells us Grin

Interesting that a one rep max calculator would put his max at 226 from that, would be probably be about right from the 220 training press we have seen

You must be kidding? Its spot on, just like he was in Leeds.

As I've said previously, Biby will be the one to take the log record in to the future.

I agree about the record, however his leg drive is not "spot on" second to last rep he is basically doing a calf raise whilst overhead pressing, most people would advocate pushing through the mid-foot or heels no?

I didn't look at the leg drive in the video but the answer is both yes and no, or at least it should be.

You shouldn't be on your toes as you dip down as of course you will be off balance, weight can go forward etc However as you are driving up you should be using your calf's to gain extra momentum and should be aiming to do so with such force that you leave the floor (regardless of if you actually do or not).

That being said, this is to get the maximum drive and that does not suit everybody. Some don't have the core stability or flexibility for it and need to press a weight more slowly or they will lose balance and not be able to control it for a down call.

Been looking around and tbh didnt realise how many use this technique so i guess im probably wrong.

Although thor does not appear to do this. I used a jerk technique when log pressing (not split jerk) and it made a big differance.
