Why you lean towards one method than the others and what strength sport do you train for?

Hill sprints are fun! Member 731, 3253 posts SQ 200, BP 127.5, DL 232.5560.0 kgs @ 80kgs UnEq | I train for powerlifting. I've got to the point I'm at by messing around with various training methods. I have found that I make most progress when I do exactly as Marc Giles tells me. This method might not work well for all people, but it works well for me! It basically involves lots of singles at high percentages on squat and bench. Plus, lots of singles at slightly lower percentages on the deadlift.

Cut toe in half = bad day. Member 4359, 3581 posts SQ 270, BP 140, DL 310720.0 kgs @ 137kgs UnEq | Up to august last year my programming was awful and pretty much non existant, never squatted, never did much oh and I was constantly failing lifts. Started training with JC 3 times a week, started 5/3/1 and made back squat my priority movement. Initially I dropped from around 162 to 155 in bw, consistently adding strength. from the start of august to the end of September I added 80kg to my squat and everything else improved drastically. My Log and deadlift have hit barriers recently so Im going to experiment with Blockhead and the Ortmayer deadlift routine for My Log Pushies and Deads. Im hoping the extra volume this entails will help me build some size as probably one thing I lack is muscle on my upper back and chest/arms/shoulders. My event work is never really planned, I just try and hit PB's every session, or try and make weights easier. I did 140 farmers for 20m for about 10 consecutive weeks, but each time they were getting better. Aslong as theres improvement im satisfied. My goals within the next 5 years are: Qualify for the Arnold Ams UKSC Englands Long term Goals: WSM Britains Euros At 20 years old I think my progress up to now has shown that If I can consistenly improve at this rate then theres no reason why I cant progress to being one of the top guys in the country.

as crimson as my last victims underclothing..... Member 899, 11324 posts SQ 180, BP 132.5, DL 190502.5 kgs @ 118kgs UnEq | Post Edited: 29.03.2014 @ 14:50 PM by Wiegieboard I train for mountaineering and boxing.Lifting wise I've been cutting it back a bit lately after doing more volume and blowing up to 102kg. Now I Try to squat once a week and do whatever takes my fancy. I try to dead once a week doing seven sets of triples with a lighter weight, pulldown for 5 sets of 5 to 10 reps, overhead for 5 sets of 8 to 10 reps Try to bench for a few sets of 6 to 10 reps. Other training includes Climbing Daily cardio max incline on treadmill Revolving staircase Long distance run once per week Boxing session on Saturday with ex welterweight beltholder A half dozen or dozen rounds on the bags/speedball a few times per week. Ground based movement training for 5 rounds. Conclusion: Powerlifting was making me stronger Str9ngman basedd training such as loading and movement based training was making me stronger and bigger. I neglected my health and got ill. I climbed a range of 3 mountains 3 years ago and failed one of them at thhhe start of this year which made me get my arse in gear. I realized I wasn't very useful at 102kg so changeddddd my training around with the goal of getting my breathing and panic attacks under control. Now I massively overtrain but the heart rate is getting lower as is the blood pressure and my ability to move my arse is getting better. I'M now 94kg and have aaa long twrm goal of getting to 83kg. I'm also mostly veggie now but never even noticed it until recently.

Good on you. Without belief you may as well quit now! Shoot for the stars mate. There should be no doubt at all in your mind that you will one day be WSM. If you question that possibility at all then you have no chance.

I train for strongman, currently I just do whatever Vanilla Gorilla tells me Basically 4 gym sessions a week and 1 events session, all full body.
