tlast2O12dude | Hip trusts to help me improve my squat? | 21-10-2010 @ 23:03
Obvious Juicer Member 1613, 1036 posts SQ 185, BP 140, DL 220545.0 kgs @ 66kgs UnEq | Hi, well, i have the problem of knees caving in during heavy squats, i read a post on the internet that said that this was caused because of weak gluteus muscles. So my question is... if i start doing some serious hip trusts (heavy) will this help me add power to my gluteus fast? or there is another best exercise?

i shy away from hard work Member 549, 2761 posts SQ 250, BP 132.5, DL 282.5665.0 kgs @ 120kgs UnEq | make sure you make an effort to push your knees out whenever squatting, even on lighter reps. do an advanced search on knees caving in on www.startingstrength.com

Still got a little bit of strength Member 400, 22017 posts | Just make a conscious effort not to let your knees move inwards! No need for fancy remedies! It's probably not a problem anyway. Just your body finding its strongest position. I think I've seen 1 video of you squatting - and it looked fine.

I read that doing that will force my gluteus to activate to keep balance. I like this one because is %100 i will be activating the gluteus if not i will fall. i think i will start doing one legged squats for a while and keep the squat sessions medium heavy to make sure i dont cave in.

deadlift 300kg conventional ? never gonna happen Member 414, 1127 posts SQ 275, BP 187.5, DL 317.5780.0 kgs @ 115kgs Eq | Wayne_Cowdrey said:Just make a conscious effort not to let your knees move inwards! I would say f**ked knees would be a problem. Besides, glutes hams are stronger than your quads in terms of moving the heaviest weights.

Member 1307, 14110 posts SQ 355, BP 240, DL 370965.0 kgs @ 102kgs UnEq | This is true that your knees moving inwards are due to weak glutes, i had this problem but for some reason (althrough i knew it was do to glutes all along) i changed nothing and it just went away only thing i can thing of is my stance changed alot, so maybe thats why

as deep as his fat little body will allow Member 265, 4173 posts SQ 222.5, BP 142.5, DL 235600.0 kgs @ 108kgs UnEq | Too much fancy s**t - adopt a slightly wider stance and make a conscious effort to keep the knees in line with the feet as you drive up. That will fix it.
