Anyone else in the grey area between graduating from uni and trying to get a job?

How are you finding it? Is it what you expected?

Couldn't find anything to do with my degree and that was a blessing as I then worked hard to develop skills and qualities that would get me a job I would actually want to do. And here I am today, doing just that while some poor c**ts in Israel are getting blown to bits, so I count my blessings.

ps: Preemptively I add a footnote. Boar jokes about me not working and living off of other people but that actually never happened, and neither did I f**k off to Australia for a year to do absolutely nothing like he did! What a bum. Don't be like him.

Haha Smalls my Facebook feed is full of people bumming round Thailand and Australia going spear fishing for their tea and some with very good degrees, no judgements here!

I'm actually quite jealous.

Work is the most overrated thing a human can do. Avoid getting a real job for as long as you possibly can.

I was in that grey area when i finished uni, what i did was moved home and got my old job back driving forklift trucks, then found a adult training scheme where i trained as an electrician for 2 years then got into the oil industry. i haven't looked back tbh.

No idea, the only guarantee is they've all been surprised by the genital area at least once of an extremely attractive "woman".

I went on to do a Masters as I felt my degree was too general. I now do a job specifically related to what I studied. Best choice I made and I graduated when the recession hit (was s**tting bricks). If I didn't make that choice i'm sure I wouldn't have got a job at that time and would be in a worse position now.

Work isn't so bad, it's just what you do with the time off I think. You need money to do anything

Sat in your boat right now pal, applied for PhD without success and undergrad is neither use nor ornament despite getting a good degree so a masters it is!

Good man.

If you did well in your results you can always apply for a scholarship which is what I did and saved me a fair chunk of money.

Yeah I keep being advised to do that but lecturing at a University is the ultimate goal. Love science too much, love doing research and love University...
