VinnyJones | Going to the next level | 08-11-2016 @ 14:13
Who said it's hardcore? Member 3896, 847 posts SQ 265, BP 150, DL 320735.0 kgs @ 128kgs UnEq | Ok, so competed in 3 novice comps... a couple of inters and 4 opens in the past 3 years. Progressively moved through. A win at England's Most Powerful Man (novices) in my first year and a few podium finishes in Opens comps. What do you think it takes to get to the next level or what's your experience of doing so if you compete? I'm talking of competing in qualifiers but actually being competitive in a huge field of really good guys too. I can't devote my time 100% to it like a few guys seem to be doing these days but I do what I can and mainly do this to enjoy myself, keep depression at bay and lat flare my steroid moles to the underlings in the gym.

AKA the great reset Member 4056, 5206 posts | I am not at a high level. I think hard work and a good plan would be needed. Also to know when to take a break, or take things a bit easier. Sometimes working smarter beats working harder. I think also, genes play a big part. At least at the very top. Obviously nutrition and 'supplements' are very important.

what is everyone's fran time? Member 3986, 10443 posts SQ 340, BP 200, DL 400940.0 kgs @ 129kgs Eq | Pressure and time, that's all it takes really. Couldn't help quoting Shawshank but really their is no trick that I know of. Continued hard work, thinking how to train more efficiently and intelligently and nailing down other variables such as recovery and nutrition as much as possible.

Injury prevention, proper warm ups, stretching and soft tissue work. All the boring stuff but people that don't get injured get stronger much more quickly than those that do

Average hamstring at best Member 4663, 588 posts | How much difference does bcaa's and all the other legal supplements make? I notice ed and terry pushing stuff like this but obviously they're sponsored so they will. Do they actually work make a difference?

Biggest factor is genetics, both natural frame etc plus how body responds to massive drug use. Bcaas etc are bunkem.

Bcaa's, as a supplement are supposedly a waste of time* PH are legal aren't they so I'm sure they go SOME way to making a difference? *I have no science to actually back this up!

Sdrol,m1t for example. They'll get you swole, shut down hpta and stress your liver hard. worse than banned ones, yet legal OTC... such is the idiocy of drugs law in general (the worst drug of all is legal, heavily promoted and socially acceptable: ethanol)
