Average hamstring at best Member 4663, 588 posts | Post Edited: 03.10.2017 @ 23:01 PM by SteBennett I was there and I saw it. No body enjoys watching him lift more than me. Right from the first time I saw him at uk's I've been a massive fan. I'm not disputing his talent. Like I say I might be wrong, but the impression I get was that he had no intention of competing. You have your opinion that he wouldn't do that, I personally believe he would if asked by Colin to help pump up the sales

It's a moonface era now. Member 5901, 956 posts | RebeccaRoberts said: Even a half peaked eddie would walk the comp! The desire would have been to do it for his fans. Loads of people went to see eddie compete and he was genuinely really upset and apologised to the crowd a few times for letting them down. His fans mean a lot to him so he would have wanted to put on a good show for them half peaked wtf u are killing me u saw in the interview what costs him Europes and Worlds shape.. will he do this again, i dont think so

That would have won him the comp easy. He would have wanted to do it for his home crowd, especially after the wsm win.

If he had no intentions surely he wouldnt have bothered and just said his piece before they started? I dont believe it for a second, eddies dedicated and would definitely have wanted to have a go for his fans and do his best. It wasnt meant to be because he was ill, he is only human

I did, hes great at yoke, saw him at wsm masters last year and he was ace. Hes the only one to do a proper warm up if you watch, i think that really helps.. Youre never your best on the first run

Like I say he did the exact same thing last December, think he blamed a calf injury. A few days later he was in the gym again

It wasnt meant to be because he was ill, he is only human Well didn't he go home before the meet and greet thing just like last year at leeds?.. where he injured his calve but two days later was pulling 420 x 3 sets of 3... Neither did he apologise or explain on social media for pulling out of either competition, which doesnt really show his respect for his fans (away from the stadium either). He's posted no training vids, just old ones and has claimed 150 for a 'lot' of reps, but wouldn't post anything even though he's notorious for filming his progress and impressive lifts. Recall him claiming to have broken his foot during Giants live in 2015 in a competition with Bergmann, even though he wouldnt let the doctors look at it and continued unhindered. So he can put on drama when it suits him. He's planning something bigger clearly, but I think it explains why they had the log lift before the 'Deadlift world championships' too, an event that until now has always allowed the athletes to show their true deadlift strength fresh at the start of the comp. Isn't he one of the organisers?
