I propose a strict interpretation - only lifting a weight you haven't lifted before counts as a PB.

Logical trap! I have done 220kg before, did it again, so should not be allowed to call it a PB - but the first 220kg was a PB, but now it is not a PB!?!?

well, then you should have said "a weight which is equal or more of your current PB" Grin

anyway, what i meant to say, 220 was better this time around that when i first nailed it.

Look, it was perfectly obvious what I was saying!

If you write "PB" next to something in your log, then that lift should be something you haven't lifted before because what you're saying it you've achieved a new PB. Just like if they put "PB" next to someone's time in a track event at the Olympics. And then that weight is your PB. But if you lift the exact same weight again, you don't write "PB" next to it, or most wouldn't, just like they wouldn't put up "PB" next to a 9.77 run by Asafa Powell on TV, cos he's already run it three times - because that would imply you'd achieved a new PB.

What I said was what I meant, and what I said was correct.

heavy singles & 5x5 routine continues...

Bench press
10x60
5x80
3x100
1x110 - not good
1x120 - good
1x125 - everything went wrong, barbell path, pause sunk in, slow descent. And i nailed it, so i take that as progress.
5x5x115 - not paused. Very hard, but in some sets i felt there were more reps in. This makes me think i should go for 5x5x117.5 next week still if feeling great.

barbell behind neck shoulder press for rehab
15x20
30x25

pulldowns
6x77
6x98
2x6x126

no energy left...

ez bar culrs, 20x ez+20kg

It was a mad squat sunday at sugden - 8 mofos squatting and two other mofos doing other stuff. This took the level of bulls**t to new heights. There was a lot of highs and lows in our squatting today.

squat
6x60
5x100
3x130
1x150
1x170
1x190
1x205 - PB! brutal rep, didn't have 100% focus on it either. More in me.

Right shoulder got sore after the hard rep so couldnt do any backdown volume work.

Pullthroughs
20x stack
16x stack +10kg plate

ab pulldowns
6x63
7x70
2x70+7.5lbs block

no necks
12x90
12x150
12x180
12x210
25x210kg

I wouldn't put money against you getting 220 before the end of the year. You probably had 210 today, if you continue eating that amount of food no reason why you can't do it.

thanks dudes. It was a good day. Hope more will follow.

I dont feel burned out or overtrained at the moment, i think i can still continue to make gains with my bench 5x5 and maybe even nail a new bench PB soon. Deadlifts i need to play by ear.

regarding the eating side, i need to take a break soon from the high calorie intake - it can be pretty f**king tiring to eat loads all the time Grin Also, i should take maybe a month off CEE, been taking it now for about 7 weeks.

JONI,

Why you thinking of taking a break from CEE. If its concern about liver or kidneys or similar bulls**t then dont bother, stay on it, there is no evidence that creatine is bad for either.

good point, though i remain sceptical.

the main reason is that the main gains from creatine is mental boost of the extra strength and tad bit of size it gives. This will of course lose its edge when taken for a long time. Its good to cycle off from it and then get back on it for an extra boost.

You were pressing boars or the bar was on boars?

I think the first would be more impressive, cos the range of motion in the latter would be pretty minimal.
