God knows where this thread will end but;

Seems like we will now be changing to the new weight classes.

That means I can eat some more pies... but then drop more for BDFPA.

Personally I am not a fan of them. Didn't see what was wrong with the old ones? I mean 93kg? What gayness is that. But hey ho not massively concerned. Guess some people will gain whilst some people will loose out.

Looks like you can eat half a pie more a day Happy

Men 52, 58, 66, 74, 83, 93, 105, 120, 120+
Women 43, 47, 52, 57, 63, 72, 84, 84+

Actually it's not too bad, but could have actually come up with better classes. Why 93? Why not 55, 65, 57, 85, 95, 105, 120, 120+. See I've saved em 1 class.

Ohh and they still have to vote on them but people seem to be acting as though its a given. If the vote is 'yah' then they will come into force 1st jan

Not too bad for me if I stay at 82.5kg, but I'm not really sure I see the point.

Is this being done to reset all of the records?

Less weight classes more competition, cant see the problem tbh think its a good idea. I doubt its to reset the records for the sake of it...i've heard of people saying to reset the records set due to PED use etc. but unless they test EVERYBODY...ALL THE TIME...whats the f**king point in that!?!?!

Less weight classes? They've just fiddles around with the brackets really. Instead of 82.5,90,100,110, 125, +125 they have 83, 93, 105, 120, +120. Thats only one less class from 'middle weight' up. Hardly a radical change to induce more competition. It's lame as much as anything as it seems to make no really difference.

In my hounrable opinion if they were going to change the classes they should have actually gone to square one and had a good think about it.

How about; 55 (FW), 70 (L), 85 (M), 100 (LH), 120 (HW), +120 (SWH)? Now that would be a sig change and a sig reduction in weight classes?

I think for any international records to stand, they HAVE to test everybody, all the time? If you beat an international record and don't get tested, you don't get to claim the record.

I don't have any opinions on this but there are a number of very prominent records belonging to lifters currently lifetime suspended by IPF - Belyaev and Coan etc.

There are new qualifying totals. Carn't post an excel sheet. Until it is voted on we all go on as normal. If/when it comes into force then you will need to have done the nen qualfy totals to lift in the new class.

They actually seem lower. For instance 93kg equipped open is 680kg (90kg was 690) and unequipped 545 (was 560 I think)
