Hi,

just on your site having a look see having followed the link from SugdenBarbell.co.uk and looking at prices for Impact Whey Protein. 5kg unflavoured is £46.79, 5Kg Chocolate Nut flavour is £57.19 £11+ seem a bit steep for what is effectively a bit of flavouring. Could you please let me know if I am missing something or if this is a mistake as I would like to make a purchase. I feel better if I am unconfused when spending money. Hope to hear from you soon.

Cheers,

littlea

5KG unflavoured whey = 100 servings of 50gr (40gr protein)
Flavour drops = MINIMUM of 100 servings

Total

46.79+
3.99

50.78

Something doesn't add up. Even with the powder additive at 4.49 it's still only 51.28.

Part of the reason I only buy unflavoured.

I too, only buy unflavoured. I only use it once a day in my morning porridge.

Thanks guys. I'll have a re-ponder, but unflavoured does seem to be the best way. I'll do some more browsing and scouring.

I'd still like to hear MP's explanation for such a big jump in cost.

Its most likely the cost of mixing - either mixing a huge batch which is time consuming/energy intensive (solids handling in process engineering is a git) or if they mix it on order, so someone has to mix it for you and you pay for their time.

I used to buy unflavoured protein from a guy who owned a lock-up room in a storage place. He'd throw in a free Nesquick of your choice. Tasted great.

"Please note this nutritional information is taken from the unflavoured version. When choosing a flavoured version it will reduce the protein content by approximately 3% for most flavours, however chocolate, due to the added cocoa, will reduce it by approximately 8%."

Quite a big drop in protein volume for flavoured tooConfused

He'd always say "come again". Now I think about it....

Either way, it's still protein!

Even though flavoured loses protein %, your general gym rat wants flavoured protein, so it's a marketing method to the masses. Price the stuff that people want, because they'll buy it anyway.
be interesting to see sales stats on flavoured vs unflav

Has anyone got a good nesquik to unflavoured whey ratio for best taste?
