Grin

Tich and Vinny - I hate you both and hope you die, stop arguing, thats for Icepick and myself to do. You are both asking to be raped from behind and sound like dicks with those comments.

Many guys use it, more so than don't. But bringing light of this to our 'underground' sports is never going to help so much, you get the 'I could do that if I took gear' comments and so on.

As I recently found out this was true I warned Andy that I will now be sitting on my arse, on a chair made of shrps injecting 1g test a day and I will own his deadlift shortly, if I only knew all this before.

nearly fell asleep reading that waffle

that is on points though, the only lifter in that list to have lifted more is donnie t, and his lifts came under much scrutiny

so i geuss it depends what you would class as the 'best' best points worked out by a formula very few people understand, or most weight lifted

For what it's worth Powerlifting Watch rank him at 18th at the moment.

Could someone explain why, for example, Brian Siders has 844 'points' compared to Andy Bolton's 790, despite the fact they both compete in the same weight category and Andy lifts significantly more.

The points are worked out based upon whether the competition is tested or not and the equipment that is allowed as well as on bodyweight.

Clearly you would expect somebody lifting in an untested multiply competition to lift more than somebody in a tested single ply competition.

Jeff Lewis for example lifted 1272kg in the WPO (just 2.5kg less than Andy the following year) - he then returned to USAPL and lifted 1040kg. That would "suggest" that a 1180kg total by Siders in the USAPL was substantially better than 1275kg by Andy in the WPO. However, unless they ever lift against each other we will never know for certain.

so, how would glenn ross's total compare, he is at around 1000kg in just knee wraps in comp?

PLW don't attempt to compare unequipped (or nearly unequipped with knee wraps) with equipped. For comparison, however, Siders lifted 1000kg without knee wraps when he competed raw against Donnie Thompson a couple of years ago

meanwhile back to the show....I specifically subjected myself to said Programme last night too and was completely uninspired and unimpressed. Matey the journo dumbed down the whole time in an effort to relate to what's expected these days to be an uninformed and stupid public. Firstly he used the most obviously rubbish piece of so called equipment to give himself pecs. Then (and what irked me most)showed himself over on the dark side talking about steroids in a PROPER gym, before deciding he needed to have a work out himself which he had in obviously a Fitness Farce type 'Health Club', struggled (surely he was joking) to bench about 50kg, and did some lunges with a barrel etc..... It made it look like you can only have a productive workout (and aren't overhead lunges a bit strange to give a novice anyway) somewhere like that rather than getting him training with real lifters in a proper gym who do take it seriously....pah!
I've wound myself up now...

"Unfortunatly Kieran was wearing one of my comp t-shirts and the rotary club have gone nuts about the program, but thats always been the way with the media and our sport, they'll always brand us as users. I think Kieran is a good bloke, but this program just proves you can't talk to the press without more care.

On the upside maybe if i manage to find another venue for another cullystrongman , St John ambo will bring more interesting supplies eh???? LOL"
