An empty beer keg was randomly dumped outside my place of work.

After getting sprayed with the pressurised remnants of what was in there before, I managed to fill it with water, and I've put it in the gym.

But, it only weighs about 64kg. This is too light for pressing, and there's very limited space for doing carries with it.

Suggestions please for what I can do with it.

Turkish get ups? One arm snatch? Curls?

Fill it with something heavier?

If you filled it with sand, it would be about 50% heavier.

fill it with sand and then fill it with water to fill up the gaps in between the grains of sand

Voilà.

100kg.

Perfect for pressing, carrying, and - inevitably - leaving as a fifteen stone door stop in the corner of the gym.

Thanks for the posts. I won't be changing the contents. Had enough bother filling it with water. Had to push a valve in and pour jugfuls of water through a small gap.

WILLSAN has a smaller 95kg keg (which I strict pressed years ago). I wonder what's inside it.

ThTs not that light? It’s a good warm up weight?

Just press it with both hands underneath. Would be good for bear hug style carries too, not everything has to be heavy.

Good for stability and wrist strength?

I'm thinking I could do one motions with it, lap to overhead, for reppage.

I do that with a sandbag occasionally, very tricky lift.

Sellotape an Argos catalogue to the top and then you have the most useful piece of gym hardware - a seat.

Roll it up the chest and hold it there, then do the greatest movement of all, front squat.
