Sounds weird, but occasionally I do feel like that.

It can get tedious being seen as the strong guy all the time, and it's a massive contrast to my character.

But, I feel that I need to be strong, because I feel like a protector to the people I'm close to. Plus, I enjoy being involved in strongman.

What I'd like, is for people to realise that there is more to me than my strength, and my interests in nutrition and biology.

One guy said "I bet he couldn't talk about anything else". Not being funny, but when i do talk about training and nutrition, it is because someone else has brought it up. Incidentally, all this guy talks about is football. Prick.

Seriously?!

Do you have small groups of friends or what?

I'm not putting either of you down, you have some decent numbers, but it's not exactly like you're hulking behemoths that accidentally destroy everything they touch is it?

How is it that guys under 100kg in weight with reasonable domestic ability are perceived as being notable for their strength?!

In answer to the original post, an unequivocal no.

Ha ha!! I knew everyone would be saying "no" and finding it a weird concept!

That's partly what I meant.

I think part of it comes from my job. 9 years of dealing with some extremely violent teenagers and young adults. My colleagues regularly say they feel safe when I'm on shift, and I feel a certain level of expectation/pressure from that.

I think all my friends would say I'm the strongest person they know.

It's not a large group though. I tend to form close bonds with a select few.

average strength most probably comes with the bodily attributes of;
skinny beanpole
skinnyfat (alcoholic)
just plain fat

so i doubt that the guys above who commented look like this

No argument there Boar, took me ages to get to a 260 pull.

However I'm questioning the perception of other people where that level of strength is remarkable?

Using myself as an example, I'm a fair bit bigger and stronger than Wayne and Dan, but I think most people probably just see a slightly fat guy and don't pay it a second thought. Even those who know me and what I do for a living nad a hobby don't really have an idea of what strong is I wouldn't say. How many non trainers know if 100kg is a good 'lift'? Without even conceptualising whether its a deadlift or a curl...

My point being that I would expect RIDICULOUS levels of obvious size and strength to be classed as 'the strong one'
