If the venue is small and likely to attract too many people if free then charge and charge as much as you can get away with like all other sports. £12 seems pretty reasonable to me to watch a comp with what, Frampton, Hall, Gearing, Hicks, Mcintosh, Felix all WSM alumni competing. If people don't wanna pay it vote with your feet and don't go. If you want the sport ton succeed and grow then this is a transition that needs to happen.

I will be voting with my feet but that's not the point I'm making. I'm querying the reason for the charge is all.

If the money is going back into the comp as prize money or expenses fair enough, why not say?

If the money is for profit (charging as much as you can get away with as you put it) again, why not say?

Only one of those scenarios will help the sport grow and.succeed at this stage in my opinion.

And what the f**k has it got to do with you what questions I ask?

I agree.

All the money may well go back into the comp'/sport but if it doesn't - so what? You think the big cheeses in strongman are doing it for free or at a loss? No, just those at grass roots level. If Rich's business makes some money - great, as I am pretty sure he will re-invest it to benefit his members and or future events (I still think there should be a proper qualifiers though! Maybe next year.)

Exactly, so I'll carry on saying what I want without your input or instruction thanks.

Haha and hardly no, I'm in no position to be getting invites to comps like this and am never likely to be Grin

PSF do a lot for the sport, be it putting comps on or allowing people to use their kit.
If they make a bit of money for this then so what?

I’m guessing the extra £2 (from 10 to 12) is to cover the extra costs incurred in 'advanced sales' such as the charges to process card payments, and the cost of posting the tickets etc. Call it an admin charge or whatever, but it costs more to organise than just selling on the day.
People were keen to advance book so as not to miss out and risk travelling on the day, considering the small amount of tickets / space available compared to what is bound to be high numbers wanting to attend.

Whatever the reason, I think they could charge allot more than £12 and still sell out IMO. Happy

What's my bulls**t exactly?

All I've done is ask reasonable questions? Not accused anyone of anything, not criticised anyone? Please, reveal my bulls**t?

What a dickhead comment.
People who have put hundreds, thousands of hours into training, eating, spent countless money on travel and supplements, entry fees and physio obviously take it seriously.
When one of the biggest and best opportunities in years comes along, and the process isn't transparent then I would say people SHOULD be questionning it, even if it doesn't directly affect them.

This was your first post to me, i hadnt said anything to you at this point.

This was your bulls**t. And then you just carried on talking s**t.

Basically, you talk s**t.

The end

Proper seating hire for spectators doesn't come cheap.

you make a valid point

BUT everyone is ignoring the point VG has made

If you own a gym and youre holding a comp at your gym AND prize money is being given by sponsors.....

The question VG asked remains unanswered, why does it cost £12 to go watch?

Because it'll sell out anyway. I'm not ignoring it at all. What any man dioes with his own money is his business.
