that would mean guys under 80kg would get 2 opportunities to qualify. would that be fair?

the point is everyone in the u80 comp has the opportunity to qualify twice.

nice idea but not workable imo.

No, it means they can't win BSM u105kg and have it qualify them for ESM Opens final.

so, playing devils advocate, would you say you disagreed with Hixxy getting an invite to Euros qual, as he hadnt top 3 in an open comp!?

No because that was an invite only comp' without qualifiers.

I've edited my reply to Craig to make it more accurate as we're talking abot BSM winner qualifying for ESM... which is another issue - what if BSM u80kg winner is Scottish or Welsh?

BSM u80 competitors from the Midlands don't really have two chances to qualify, as Midlands u90 qulaifier for Englands is the day before, so not really feesable either way.

And if an u80 competitor is willing to step up and give away 22 POUNDS plus of bodyweight to the other competitors I think that sportsmanship and determination should be rewarded.

But there is a slight chance that I might be biased.

I think it should be top 2 from BSM u80 go thru, then one of the others can come with me Grin
