Press release regarding the Elite Strongman Promotions



England’s Strongest Man Final 2010



Elite Strongman Promotions are the primary organiser of Strongman competitions across England, and would like to announce the details of our premium show "The England’s Strongest Man Final 2010"



We have run this high profile event since 2005 and had a fantastic record of success throughout:

There are five test of strength to see which man is England’s strongest man. These tests of strength are:



1: Truck pull

The athlete will wear a harness and upon the referee’s command pull a 22 tonne truck over a 25metre course. The front of the truck must cross the finishing line to stop the clock. The competitor with the fastest time wins

Weight: 22 tonne

Course 25 metres

Time limit 90 seconds



2: 130kg Log lift

The athlete will start grasping the handles within the log on the floor. Upon the referee’s command, the athlete will begin lifting the log. The athlete will press the log above his head until the elbows are locked. The log must be held in position until the referee acknowledges the lift. The log will then be lowered to the chest, than repeated as many times as possible in the given time. The log must be stationary before the commencement of the next lift.

The weight must be lifted cleanly, splitting as per Olympic jerk style will be permitted. Push-press technique is also permissible

Time limit: 75 seconds

Weight of log: 130kgs



3: medley of pain, Farmers 250kg, tyre flip 350kg, 315kg chain drag.

Each competitor must flip the tyre 6 times, the time will stop when the competitor completes the last flip the whole of the tyre must be flat on the floor than the competitor will carry the two cylinders 25matres both the competitor and the cylinders must be completely across the finishing line, than athletes will drag a 315kg chain 15 metres, the athlete and chain must be completely across the finishing line.

Fastest time wins, or than the distance on framers or number of flips!

Time limit: 90 seconds

4: van or axle deadlift using the bar on the frame, which is extending from the end of a van, will be grasped deadlift style. The athlete will commence lifting on referee’s signal. Competitors must stand erect with legs straight and back extended in an upright position with shoulders locked back. The weight can be returned to the start position on the referee’s signal. This sequence to be repeated as many times as possible in the time period allowed Athletes must maintain a grip on the bar at all times. The person lifting the most number of reps wins. Lifting straps are permitted, but the use of adhesive substance on the hands is not permitted.
Time limit: 75 seconds
Start Weight: 280kg plus


5: Barrel load

4 beer barrels are to be loaded in ascending order, onto the platform each beer barrel must be placed in an upright position. All barrels loaded in the fastest time wins. Times will be taken when each barrel is placed onto the platform. Barrels falling off the platform must be replaced by the competitor before continuing onto the next barrel. A time will be given for each barrel load, fastest time and number of barrels load will be scored.

Time limit: 75 seconds
