Member 4601, 118 posts | When going on about these calibrated plates, I very much doubt un-calibrated plates are going to be off by a significant enough difference to matter (we're hardly talking 15kg) but is it not just as likely that they could be heavier than the stated weight? I do remember training with some plates that were closer to 21kg rather than 20! Other than Ursus, Mark and Terry (apologies if I'm missing anyone out) both Ed and Hixxy put a s**t ton more weight up in any kind of shoulder event than anyone else that posts on here, so why not stop b**ching, get behind them and see what they can do, rather than arguing over some theoretical max lift some time in the future! | ||

Even though it was at the log lift champs I believe it is not recognised by Colin Bryce etc as it was not part of a full strongman comp' and maybe non-calibrated plates too? Or maybe just because it was not a Giants Live / WSM event? I don't buy into the full comp' thing because you can just make it the first event and then people can drop out anyway. | ||

Firstly, let me state one thing all the people mentioned ED, Hixxy, Loz extra can all lift more than me in all the lifts. Just stating the obvious before someone starts their BS on me. I find it very strange that people have to attack someone on here when they disagree with the majority, i.e. Ed being better overhead than Hixxy. If someone had said the opposite, I am quite sure there wouldn't be 8 pages of b**ching about 'no he's not', more like 8 pages of mutual masturbation. I train with Ed and agree with the statement made, that Ed is the best presser in the UK. Nobody believed his 420kg raw deadlift was real, did Eds fans and friends come on here attacking people - NO!. What happened ? He just pissed the deadlift event at the Brits and made it look f**king easy, then went to Europes and showed the World what he was capable of. The same is happening with his overhead, oh this persons better etc. We are all allowed to show loyalty to people we admire and look up to but instead of us lesser mortals b**ching and crying about it, let the lads do their stuff. Let the weights in a comp do the talking. MAX Log in the Brits next year should settle that. In the meantime lets put away our laminated pics of our favorite strongmen and save some testosterone for training. | ||
