Any sugdeners lifted the famous stones?
I have always liked the idea of given them a go and think i will at the end of the year. Been watching a lot on youtube about them and i think it would be a great experience.

Not something either of us have done but something both Becca and I plan to at some point. Possibly next year. She wants to be the first female to lift them and I would like to either try walking with them or hold for time. Not sure what the records are for either these days.

We would also like to have a crack at some of the stones too (inzer stone etc)

Disagree completely as that was with straps. The whole thing that makes them hard is gripping the rings. Obviously yes the weight is heavy and no offence to Jan Todd but there's probably a lot of strongwoman could lift them with straps, even some lightweight competitors, especially with a lot of them being short.

Oh I thought you ment just lift it. You didn't mention unassisted. Well fair play then if Rebecca becomes the first to lift unassisted. Would be some achievement

I don't class using straps as lifting them personally. It's a grip lift. To me that's the same as doing a double overhand axle deadlift with straps. That's not a doh axle pull, its just a deadlift.

Was about 10 years ago that I last lifted them.

New stipulations for lifting these days to limit damage/wear to the stones:
4 weeks advance notice
Proof of lifting a minimum of 300kg without straps
No more "Assisted Lift" attempts (women are allowed straps tho)

Best to have a look on the Dinnie Stones website first.

Ye but its in the history books. The organisers allowed it so she did lift it. I understand what you are saying but it was classed as a successful lift.
Good luck to your other half to become first unassisted.
