When I deadlift heavy, the bar tends to drift away from my legs. I think this is probably a strength issue as the bar slides up nicely when using lighter weights but i'm not sure. I really feel like its limiting my pull.

Does anyone have any suggestions for remedying this?

thanks

This used to happen to me all the time I found the reason I was doing it was I started the lift with my shins touching the bar and when u pulled the bar would drift forward now I have my shins back from the bar and it follows a much ebetter path

Worth a thaught if you start like I used to?

This used to happen to me when I would try and pull as fast as possible like i was jerking it off the floor. Now I squeeze the bar from the floor and is much better.

I tend to rip the bar off the floor so I'll try and do this.

Drag the bar up your shins(they should hurt), also once you start the lift pull backwards as well as upwards.

Get in tight on the bar mate, stand right over the bar as much as possible. Post a video up! What is the surface like your lifting? A bad surface or bent bar can cause problems.

This is what I try to do, but it just drifts when I go heavy. I can feel the leverages aren't ideal so I know I'll add some kgs as soon as I get it sorted.

I deadlift on a lifting platform so that's okay, but the bars are s**t!

I'll try and get a video on saturday.
