 bookies have him 2nd for BSM Member 1176, 318 posts | The Stone of Strength Challenge Day sponsored by AGRITRADER took place on Saturday 13th June 2013; the weather was fantastic, in stark contrast to last year’s wet event. All attempts were carried out under a marquee, this year to keep lifter and stone in the shade! 10 lifters attempted the natural ‘egg-shaped’ granite feat stone, which officially weighs in at 177.5 kgs. There are 3 levels of lift: Level 1: Break the ground Level 2: To the chest Level 3: To the shoulder The contenders and their achievements were as follows: Steve Burr: Level 1 Reuben Hughes: Level 1 Llion Evans Level 1 Tomas Edwards No Lift Iestyn Jones No Lift Dan Burr No Lift Mathew Jones No Lift Simon Johnston: Level 2 Graham Hicks Level 2 Jamie Redwood Level 1 As well as the usual local lifters, we were joined this year by three ‘strongman’. Simon Johnston, the reigning Wales Strongest Man travelled from Rhyl to compete. Graham Hicks, drove down from Morecambe. Graham, placed 4th in Britain’s Strongest Man last year, this achievement took him on to the World’s Strongest Man competition in California, where he placed 4th in his heat. Two times former Wales Strongest Man Jamie Redwood journeyed from Rhondda to complete the trio. Chris Davies of AGRITRADER again offered £1000 to the first person to lift this stone to the shoulder; however no one managed to perform a Level 3 lift. | ||

Si johnson has some on his youtube.......... more times i got it to my lap more i got use to it and familiar with shape but i was in alot of pain as were others.
