Does f*ck all for SugdenBarbell.co.uk Member 1, 7173 posts SQ 182.5, BP 110, DL 205 497.5 kgs @ 107kgs UnEq Administrator	As promised, I've finished coding the Competition Database The idea is to get good, detailed and useful information for as many strength competitions around the UK as possible. We have plenty of members scattered across the place so it should be of good benefit to everyone. All members can submit competitions/events which will then appear once an administrator has approved them. Also, another feature, members can add their attendance status to each individual competition - they can say if they will be at the event or not, and whether or not they will be lifting or spectating or even officiating. This should be a cool feature if people use it!! I'll do some more work on it once we get a few more competitions in it, such as a map/region break down. We will also be archiving past competitions in the database and adding links to results/reports etc. from within them. Hope its useful, all feedback appreciated as ever.

We were planning the new NW BWLA newsletter and we are going to include Sugden as a "point of info" for upcoming events etc. So yes I think its a brilliant idea! In the past communication with the membership has not been great and Sugden is a exellent display area and contact point with other lifters. It is great for newcomers to be able to get in touch with other lifters in there area to train together etc Keep up the good work!

And hey folks, this is only as good as the data in there, so this will be a community effort for sure. - If you see a comp announced somewhere, nail it to the database - if you hear folk asking about comps, give them the competition listing URL (this will spread the word about it, get people ckecking it more often, and comp promotors will hopefully start submitting comps directly as well) - it is a community effort, so you dont have to be the comp organiser to submit the info! i guess worth noting that if you need to edit any of the info afterwards or have something to add to the current listing details, just send a message to one of the admins, we can edit it. Exited about this one

Scotbasher - forever Member 59, 2115 posts	I wonder if we could create a gym directory on here too so that people could locate suitable gyms in the Northwest for their type of training? I have put a few people in touch with other powerlifters in certain areas. Ive not got statistics but I would say that powerlifters who train in groups are probably more successful than those who train in isolation (before you bombard me with replies to the contrary of course there are exceptions to this) Im just basing it on the talent there is at Catts, Adlington and a few other pockets in the region.
