.....Thanks for the compliment! I may be way off the mark but im thinking of not competing till mid 2011! That would give me 2 years of solid training! hopefully be a lean 19 and a half to 20 stone by then!

just dont forget that it is a moving target. As a growing sport every year the comps get harder and harder to place well. If you place on the same sport two years apart you have made progress!

With that in mind, just get stuck in again mate and enjoy the ride!

Welcome to the forum Colin. I was the guy on the mike when you nearly won in 2007. Running a gym does mess you up though. Good luck with the 'comeback'.

I thought it was you when I saw your picture! hope you are well, by the looks of the picture you seemed to have put (good) weight on! Hopefully il be seeing you around more often - no distractions for me now, fully focused on what I have to do!!

(29/09/2009) Spent 45 mins on Stones.

Warm up with 80kg stone, 8 reps to shoulder.

I then ran through the stones twice as follows...

80kg to 6ft
100kg to 5ft
120kg to 4 1/2 ft
130kg to 4 ft
150kg to 4 ft

They all felt very well, so tried for the 100kg to 6ft, but not enough shoulder power there at the moment!

I tried pressing it, im just short of 6ft myself and when the stone is on my shoulder its still a fair way off going up - so presumed i will have to press it up. Im also presuming that when I can press it, it will save time in competition? well thats the theory!!!

Shoulders

clean and press
60 x8
80 x6
100 x6
120 x3

one are dumbell press (really seemed to like these!)
30 x6 each arm
50 x3 each arm
60 x1 each arm
75 x1 only right arm.

Viking style press machine (not sure of weights but went lighter for more reps).

Did lots of side raises etc, but only going to log my main lifts.

Next week im starting back lifting the log - something i very much dislike!
No weight training tonight - rugby training (only been twice so il expect to get smashed up tonight!!)
