So I just bought a big bar of Lindt dark chocolate (70% cocoa) because I thought I should try and mature my chocolate palate. Who enjoys it?

Now if I were to buy 100g of their milk chocolate it would have been devoured before I had even left the shop. Two pieces into the dark though and I'm not sure. I want to enjoy it so I can become a patronising chocolate elitist.

Is it like tasting Whiskey? Should it be sniffed and then allowed to melt on my tongue so I can embrace the flavours?

I'm used to sugarless bitter coffee so hopefully a dark chocolate PB will come.

dosent dark chocolate have beneficial enzyme releasing capabilities if consumed before lifting?

This is my justification.

I dunno, I heard it's good in moderation, like red wine.

All I know is 3/4 of the bar is still sitting next to me! Compare that to milk chocolate where I haven't been able to leave any of a 150g bar remaining for years. I guess for that reason it's healthier at least.

Your taste buds will acclimatise - then Milk Chocolate will taste like over-sugared s**t.

For a while anyway, then it will taste fine again...

I love dark chocolate, but it doesn't lend itself to being hammered by the kilo like Fruit and Nut...

Chocolate=gainz

Seriously though unless your diet can allow you the occasional treat, it is very calorie-dense.

It does apparently have some health benefits http://www.telegraph.co.uk/food-and-drink/healthy-eating/choco...

White chocolate is not chocolate, it is an abomination.

To be fair, the milky bar kid didn't even lift. Little cowboy minge.

Find the 95/98%% cocoa one. Let one but dissolve on your tongue.

Since the thread was boosted I'll give a quick update.

My chocolate eating in general has been rock bottom this Christmas. Had a full box of roses next to me for 2 weeks and only had two. (Did eat a galaxy selection box though just to save me having to carry it home after the holidays - kept it to pre exercise energy).

I was gifted some Lindt Chilli Dark chocolate and it was actually really nice, I would continue to buy it over the normal stuff!

Dark chocolate with crystallized ginger is pretty much the perfect treat food imo.
