Second time in two weeks I've had blood vessels go in my eyes, nothing catastrophic but enough to concern...

Seems to occur following heavy squatting, not really had it before but then again I've never pushes myself so hard so I don't know if it's normal?

Anyone else get this?

Nothing to worry about.

Did one in my eye last year while deadlifting, it felt horrible at the time as I actually felt something pop. It then developed and looked awful... Fixed itself in about a week though.

Wasn't enjoyably though.

I've got a pic on my photobucket account but it won't let me access it. Bloody BREXIT!

I got it pretty bad a couple of years ago when I squatted whilst ill, felt like my head was going to pop on the top set, then I was like this Grin

Must admit I took it a little easier than usual for a couple of sessions after that, but back to normal a week later.

Mate, I understand the concern, if I was getting this regularly I would be altering the way I did things!

Yeah, thinking back this was the main thing I changed while I had it, no / limited valsalva maneuver for a few days.

Gordy said:I had my eye gouged almost out the socket while playing rugby (5 minutes into the Scottish Cup final on Murrayfield, I was devastated) the white of my eye was dark red for weeks, didn’t go to the doctor it healed and no lasting damage so I doubt it’s anything to worry about, obviously I'm not a doctor though.

It's my skin that seems to suffer from burst vessels though. I look permanently embarrassed for a couple of days after squats/deadlifts, if I do pause squats my neck, shoulders and chest join in, occasional nosebleeds more frequent when doing paused squats.

My hands are always coated in red/purple spots after benching, looks like a massive bruise. I've had nosebleeds benching and I've even bled out the back of my hand before during bench (there was no cut).

Have had my blood pressure checked and it's always fine, doctor said it was "incredibly average" the last time, almost bang on 120/80 so I'm not worried.

have you tested your platelet count? some of these symptoms sound like me when i had a low platelet condition called immune thrombocytopenia. i was seriously affected (needed splenectomy to cure eventually) and would get petechaie (red/purple spots) and long lasting nose bleeds etc just from the force of sneezing.

My eyes generally go a little just after heavy lifting but not like a bleed or a bruise if that makes sense although I did have some popped blood vessels under my eyes once a long while ago, I once was doing leg curl really heavy like a mad man and pissed blood when I got home cleared up after a day or to but scared the crap out of me still not sure how it happened really,
