no conti cleans could even up the field a bit. maybe?

If i wasn't so s**t and injured all the time this could lure me in. Roll-Eyes

Definatly up for this.

With event 4 in reality do this mean powercleans only? No belt/belly cleans

Why no continental cleans? Thought this was strongman not weightlifting, each to their own I surpose, other events all look good, good luck to those competing

Two overhead events is very much against the grain of most strongman competitions I've saw and been in where all that really matters is what you can deadlift IMO

Each to their own though and good luck with the comp!

I will give this some thought

going in to my last competition, i had low expectations because my deadlift is lower than many of the other competitors, but i realised it doesnt matter that much !

for example valdas destroyed everyone and his deadlift (force 10 said) is 260 for a few reps and dane taylore came 8th and is a 340 raw puller

Having previously pulled big weights and being physically able to pull them are very different things... I do hope that makes sense

Which I think is the crux here

You got the same reps as me on the van deadlift because you're as good a puller as I am at the moment... And if your training doesn't show this then in the long run it should, because you showed it when you needed to

Valdas too has strength which in time will easily transfer towards this movement pattern I feel and the fact he hasn't actually hasn't yet deadlifted more than 260kg in itself doesn't mean too much because just to reiterate (I think we can agree on this) he will shift big weights off the floor with a bar in his hands before too long

The stone run video (if anybody has it) will show that he has a very strong back and that was the last event too mind.

I'm also going to completely stab in the dark and say I bet he did quite well at the van deadlift too...?
