shaw has changed original post

obviously realised he overeacted

don't like Z comment even though we all know he's right pretty much, but still doesnt suit him to put people down like this

but Shaw went much lower with his comments

and by the way super heavy dumbell and deadlift from the floor benefit Shaw, cant see why complain

two overhead events in Anrnolds is since the beginning of the competition

Z s comment doesn't surprise me, my wife and her family are from eastern Europe and the humour/mentality of the people there they don't have much awareness or concern of causing offence, they pretty much call it as they see it, I can imagine them saying similar. Maybe its the same in Lithuania.

Personally I don't believe the events are massively in Z s favour a Hummer deadlift would have been better for a healthy Z and Dumbbell is probably his weakest pressing event.

I don't like event where the event is influenced massively by the height(big or small) or arm length, hand size of competitors, it was more acceptable in WSM when they had more events in years gone by and a poor performance in one event didn't mean no chance of winning.

Does Arnold still have separate grip event?

As far as Stones over bar go, I don't like the event much I would prefer ditch the dumbbell and put in a natural stone overhead pressing event, or a hummer tyre bench press.

Everyone has good events and bad events.

Obviously rumors have been rife for years that events are rigged to favour Z, and with recent comments about stones, it does look like the event planners and big wigs want Z there.

The comp is designed for the most powerful and strongest men on the planet, and it can't be up for debate that Z is at the top of that athlete list. So it would make sense that if you're running a comp to showcase this, THEY NEED Z THERE.

Is there athlete negotiations, is there athlete requests, is there bias? I have no idea, but the comp need Z there otherwise we would all be speculating that the comp was a farce because if Z didn't compete and he would have won if he did.

Z has a lot of draw and stroke in my mind, which isn't a bad thing. He has earned that by being so dominant over the years, but as it stands a top tier comp without Z doesn't have the same prestige.

Thanks, your post sums it up nicely. Agree with your thoughts and feel the same. Instead of editing the original post and backtracking he could admit the overreaction, apologise and continue the friendship. It's all not a big deal anyway.
Looking forward to WSM next. I believe Shaw will win again.
