Well done! Awesome performance.

Main thing that needs improving is the posing for pictures...

Really enjoyed watching you yesterday mate, was awesome.

Britains strongest man 2014

didn't have best build up past two weeks. Rotator cuff problems which im having mri scan in april for and a torn back muscle.

Morning of comp felt tender. Got in with sports massage guys hour before comp and they made me feel literally 50% better.

Event 1 - 150kg farmers into 200kg duck walk
rise in weight of farmers and newly painted handles had me worried. I got head into it and just made sure I set a descent time. Farmers felt surprisingly easy for what is always been known as one of my WORST events.
2nd place

Event 2 - 150kg log
Ed had set the marker at 6. I knew id do it easy if I paced myself and didn't rush or panic so did just that. Log qas actually little slippy from where ed has left his swet all over it lol
joint 1st

Event 3 - 340kg deadlift for reps
this was only event I didn't rev up for, was so nervous and worried about my back I was terrified my day was going to end in the next 60 seconds. grinded out 5 which was what I set as the goal so was chuffed.
4th place

Event 4 - 100kg dumbbell for reps
had to use left arm as right was far too injured to risk. Got a very comfy 4 with loads more reps in tank the only issue was I didn't control it on the way down so had to chase after it every rep. Definitely a good event for me in time to come with more practice.
3rd place

Event 5 - conans
not done this since 2010 under 105 englands strongest man from memory. finished 1/4 turn behind ben k who won it so was happy with the result.
4th place

Loading race
had been training this with heavier implements and over longer distance was confidence was good. I was going for win and only lost out to 1st by 0.1 seconds. Had this course ben 10m not 8 im sure id have taken it.
2nd place

OVERALL 2nd place.

Pretty speechless but I was very up for this competition yesterday and for once went in with a lot of confidence on most of the events in belief I might make podium.

Its made me very hungry now going forward my new training methods are working and im very excited about the path ahead now. Come along way since my 1st competition in 2010 where I placed 7th in a 105kg competition. Makes me believe I can win that title now.

thanks for reading and all the support of anyone on here whos ever had nice things to say and given me any encouragement.

Hix

Fantastic performance mate was brilliant to watch.

You could tell there was just that bit more from the crowd when you were up, from me and Chris too!

Hope the heats do you well at WSM and you make the final, your an inspiration to all mate and if there's one person who's boosted my confidence and I'm sure others about how far you can reach it's you.

Heal up quick, and smash WSM!!
