My mate has just got a couple of atlas stones and one weigh's 235kg and is huge. Doubt anyone will ever lift it Eek . Is there any stones in the UK bigger/heavier than this? What's the biggest stone lifted from someone from the UK?

I believe that lot down in Gloucester used to have a giant 250. I have a 235, rob has a 245 I believe. Felix lifted the 242 at the Arnold's which I believe is the heaviest lifted by a Brit but I had a torn bicep at the time. Iv3 don3 a set of 3 with my 235

Last time I was at the gym (many months ago) we were told about one that weighed about a tonne (?) - and it had been lifted Roll-Eyes

Daws87/ALWEBB72, was it a tonne that we were told? I know it was something ridiculous.

Wow so there's a few big atlas stones knocking about and unbelievably a few guys have lifted them! Terry 235x3 is crazy stuff. All these big stones are located down in Englandshire then? What about up here in Scotland, has Stuart Murray got a 205kg atlas stone?

I think size is as big a difficulty factor as weight is.

Big concrete balls are often used in civic architecture, you know around town squares and stuff. I wonder how much they weigh and if they are actually fixed to the ground?

Perhaps someone could walk up and lift one.

There's some of these in bishop Auckland town centre close to where I live. They must be 300+ kilo.

Yeah they are cemented down mate , I clipped one on an ind est down poole with the back bar of an 24t wagon and it broke free , was tempted to get the forkie to load it on the back for me but thought better of it , middle of the afternoon with office windows all round was a bit obvious Grin
