Jason93 | Bicep discomfort/pain when benching? | 07-08-2013 @ 21:11
Member 4669, 61 posts SQ 200, BP 155, DL 280635.0 kgs @ 92kgs UnEq | Whenever i go for heavy triples or singles, by biceps hurt near the bottom of the movement, to the point where im doing the slowest reps you've ever seen to ease myself into the bottom of the rep. Has anybody else experienced this and has anybody found a remedy? I was told foam rolling my chest might help.

Member 1762, 624 posts SQ 152.5, BP 125, DL 170447.5 kgs @ 81.5kgs UnEq | I started to include curls when it happened to me because I didn't do any bicep work and the pain completely disappeared.

Member 1487, 53 posts SQ 255, BP 180, DL 280715.0 kgs @ 107kgs Eq | I had the same problem years ago and know a few others have also suffered with this. It was caused by squatting with my hands to narrow which was over-stretching the biceps area. I moved my hands out on the squat and always warmed up with light curls and haven't had the problem since.

I get this a lot of the time in my left bicep, comes and goes, no real pattern to it and I do curls and chins every week. I thought it was just one of those niggly little things that couldn't really be sorted, you're basically squashing the bicep so it's bound to hurt, right ? I do what you do, lower it slowly so it doesn't bug me as much. Let me know if you find a permanent cure !

6:19.WTF Member 3359, 3677 posts SQ 250, BP 210, DL 295755.0 kgs @ 89kgs UnEq | I found the opposite, I used to get bicep and forearm pain on bench when I did do curl so I stopped curling. I haven't curled for about three years now, it took a while for the pain to go but I don't get it any more, I still do rows though.
